Congratulations to Sonya and Juliet! Exceptional Job! I turned off the volume 1/2 way through as the announcing was all over the place and a embarrassment to the contenders.

Thanks to Juliet we have the female equivalent to the joey – Kobi slugfest. With Juliet’s sudden surge, she will be the one to beat next year. Juliet has singlehandedly made July 4 interesting again!

Please correct juluet’s total. MLE gave her credit for 33 bc of her mess. ESPN didnt correct the tallies. She IS NOT the 2nd woman ever to eat 40.

Congratulations Sonya! She accomplished her goal.

I was also impressed with the totals of Larell and Meredith. A quarter of a dog difference? Hard to visualize.

Regarding Juliet, she is one heck of an eater, but she would be better and more respected for her efforts if she had more focus.

What ever happened to the “disqualification” for debris thing they were going to start enforcing??? C’mon, almost 25% of the total is deducted, and that’s not a disqualification??? Sounds like they could have fed the crowd with her “leftovers”…Juliet, you are such a great eater – just put ALL the food in your mouth, not on your plates!! Glad to see the eater wives getting involved – and Congrats to Larell for besting the 20 mark!

It’s amazing how far CE ladies have come, considering that the totals of three women in this contest (as well as the one last year) would have been enough to win each Finals event prior to 2001.

Paul Thx!!! I didn’t hear anything of debris. Perhaps the counter himself was just completely off?? Idk am just saying, could hv been a different reason. In watching the counters’ footage of the men’s, it was apparent they were hvg a bit of trouble getn the correct #s showing

If that’s true, she really gets a whole lot of inaccurate counters.

So there was a mistake at Crif Dogs and a mistake at Nathans. Counters aren’t perfect but at least the changes are being made. No big deal.

George and Rich Shea must be laughing their asses off knowing that the big hype was nothing more than a big farce. Arnie Chapman or the Bens Matzah ball crew would have done a much better job at the mic

I will bet the ranch that Kobayashi right now is boiling mad that those morons decided to correct the plate total the next day and not in his favor Maggie the evil translator must have given him the bad news in Japanese. . There will be no Crif contest next year and thats for the RECORD

Rhonda how come BB.com is never sourced in an article? Because this scumbag stole Seiken territory without giving him kudos. Good think Rifkin is not a drug dealer.

Follow the link(s) and you will understand why eatfeats is sourced in this article.
    http://eatfeats.com/query.php?_table=eaters&id=2
8:33 may be trying to be funny but BB is gossip and a lot of hate and lots of unfounded rumors etc. It is his opinions, only his, and his menu is not for everyone. Rifkin stole something? This is such a broken record. What Seiken wants he will never ever ever have because his goals are unrealistic. Mostly he just keeps his name on here hoping that others will go to his site, never ever satisfied. Rifkin is about statistics. The comments are often horrid but he does not write them but does allow them, obviously with some moderation.

Anonymous 8:33 am, OJ Rifkin “stole” nothing. I have done scores of research papers and can tell you first-hand that if I or anyone else does research, the researcher is free to obtain information from any source, as long as the source from which the information is obtained is credited. OJ does this as well as or better than any other Webmaster I’m aware of, to include those outside of the realm of competitive eating.

There is no rule or professional ethic dictating that binds a researcher to ascertain the source from which the information or data was “first.” If that were the case it wouldn’t be worth the time.

Perhaps if the Webmaster behind BB.com was more professional and accurate, and less subjective, OJ Rifkin would use bb.com for sourced material.

Rhonda, well said, all of it. Actually I do not think the comment 8:33 referred to OJ “sourcing” BB but rather once again, it is BB’s idea that he and his site should be appearing in an article on the web as a link. Once again, the Webmaster behind BB.com needs to decide exactly what he wishes to present and represent and then be satisfied with the results. No one person can be everything. Eatfeats is completely different from BB.com. If only years ago he accepted the new eatfeats and tried his best to work with it he might have been more satisfied in the outcomes.

911 am July 6 i have to disagree with you. BB.com is not full of hate and unfounded rumors. Most of what he reports on his site is very accurate.. It’s people like yourself that post negative comments about his site being a bad source for news, that deters fans of the sport away from his site. Before the advent of twitter & facebook OJ Rifkin linked 75% of BB.com on eatfeats. Yes eatfeats is different from BB.com . Its a bulletin board of comp eating news derived from google search engines , twitter and facebook accounts. Once those sources became available to OJ, he figured who needs BB.com anymore. I am sure if OJ Rifkin shared the wealth you would see less and less of Seiken or Seiken cronies hijacking threads

I think it was a combination of her mess and a botched count.

Or it was just a botched count, bc it went from 43 to 33.

Thanks for sharing that Julie. That’s one of the best CE pictures I’ve ever run upon. It’s really nice, and well-deserved, that there’s a separate women’s division, so that ladies’ talents can be highlighted.
