Eater X wins Mets ballpark Nathan’s qualifier w/50

Pix11 video of qualifier, miscaptioned as having taken place in Coney Island.

Andrew Kossuth reports that Prudence from NY was the female winner with a total of 6. (She was not the sole female competing)

Tim “Eater X” Janus won the contest with 50 hot dogs. This is the highest qualifier total of 2013.

This might be the female winner / possible sole participant.

The qualifier to be held before today’s New York Mets game vs. the Washington Nationals has received minimal publicity; it does not appear to even be mentioned on http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/The game time is 1:10 so the qualifier will have an early start.

Andrew Kossuth is the only expected entrant besides Tim Janus.

Maybe Tim Janus can do the right thing by sitting this one out and let a rising superstar like Andrew Kossuth compete against Gavonne . Could be a nailbiter for a seat at Coney

Why does he even bother? So he could put up a personal best of 13 instead of 12.5?

the contest receive minimal publicity because the Mets stink . 11 games under 500 and most of that is because they tore down Shea Stadium. The teams that keep their old ballparks reap the benefits Case in point Red Sox Fenway Park .
