I actually expected both Legs and Brian S. to eat 5 or 6 more. I hope BB’s presence didn’t jinx them. I don’t know if he was actually there or not, but if so, those poor doggies probably peered from their warm buns, saw Seiken, and tried to scurry back in.

Now that’s out of the way, here’s the rest of the season: Morgan – Atlanta, Janus- Boston, Stonie WC, Booker – Citifield, Denmark – Meadowlands. Sounds about right.

You can be positive that Seiken did not pay bucks to go to Pittsburgh, even for his best bud who he insults. He didn’t have to go as he can tell lies right here and cause trouble. Just a real high roader.

They will never DQ Legs no matter how blatent he cheats, but now it looks like he is teaching his cheating ways to others. Legs is a great personality for MLE and they cant afford to lose him. MLE got to start cracking down because some of the lesser eaters have nothing to lose if they can cheat and get away with it..

Seiken shouldn’t be talking on this post or anywhere, his game never backs up his hate. Someone remind him that 11 HDB’s was a generous number earlier in the circuit. He shouldn’t be concerned with what Subich or Legs did in Pittsburgh until he can actually break their numbers.

  25. anonymous said

It is so predictable its not funny as to why certain eaters back out of contests and come up with sorry ass excuses as to why they cant make it. Just look at the competition in Pitts. If Marcos wasnt competing Collins and Beast would be there without hesitation. Obviously Marcos must have blurted out his practice runs to both of them and they felt it just wasnt worth the trip

If Brian can’t match Wild Bills numbers in Nathans; what’s the point?

  28. anonymous said

    June 13, 2013 @ 11:44 am

Wild Bill ate 17 because the hot dogs in Pitts were perfectly cooked. Subich had a huge breakfast before the contest which explains why he only ate 19. Seiken would have eaten more than 11 if he was blessed with quality conditions in Coney on March 23

Poor little jackwagon’s numbers are so low because he wasn’t blessed? How about maybe making excuses for why he can’t eat worth butt? Or maybe Bill is actually a professional eater who does what he can with what he’s got and doesn’t snivel about conditions. That’s part of what makes a pro eater.

If the people preparing food at the contests where Seiken eats would take time to make sure that his food isn’t always ice cold or rock hard the guy could eat 20 or more hot dogs. That should be their priority. As much as Seiken has done for the sport of competitive eating, he deserves to have his dogs and buns served with in bread baskets to keep them warm. Isn’t he owed at least that?

  32. anonymous said

    June 13, 2013 @ 2:56 pm

Wild Bill averages 13 dogs per contest. He might have eaten 15 or 16 once or twice in his career but its the average per total that really counts.

We find out about them right here on eatfeats. OJ deserves all of the praise he receives. He is anonymous and many are precisely because of the hateful comments that so many make. Not cowards at all, we simply do not want to interact with those who give nothing but negative. If you are Mr. Seiken and post here anonymously and otherwise, you are participating and get what you get. Individual responsibility for your own comments should be the standard for everyone.

I hardly think it is out of “fear,” 10:39. It’s actually out of decency, that those people you mention don’t broadcast their discontent with you in a public forum. You’d do well to try to take a lesson.

Nothing wrong with not liking hot dogs (I agree that they are only palatable loaded with toppings). It’s the love of competition that this is all about. Even the most delicious foods you love tend to become gross when eaten in mass quantities.

  46. Anonymous said

Let’s use some logic here 10:39. If the names you mention, and there are 8 and you leave out Subich likely by mistake or he is just more, even if we triple that number, they are all MLE people. The competitive eating world is so much larger than that. You Mr. Seiken simply do not get that what you are doing serves no purpose except for people to have no respect for you, period. Using your logic and statements, even if the names listed came on here by their own name and said you have a point and eatfeats causes trouble, that would still only be their opinions in the larger world. Within MLE many people tried to help you and overlooked your wanting to pick a fight or tried to help you. You have clearly forgotten all of those people’s help which is really the saddest of all. When I see 24 people by name come on here and defend you and write something against eatfeats, then I might begin to notice. I am waiting.

1:48 — If Marcos said he doesn’t like Nathan’s hot dogs he was wrong too. Rookies don’t know how to handle themselves with the media and publicly. If you don’t figure it out in those categories you won’t be invited to too many events and won’t last very long. At first Miki Sudo didn’t seem to get it with she and her friends talking crap publicly. Sudo seems to get it now. Molly had bigger problems than just saying she thought Nathan’s hot dogs were gross. Doing a qualifier when she never intend to do the final, well that just pisses off fellow eaters, the MLE and Nathan’s. Mostly however, her in inability to grasp the big picture, that while you can be a fierce independent competitor at the table, outside of the competition you represent the sponsor and MLE. The better you present these things, the more sponsors will arise which is good for everyone. Molly never got it and will now find her “independent spirit” eating local pizza joints while MLEers go to Singapore.

10:39 Please don’t talk for other eaters. Particularly when you don’t know those other eaters any further than a casual hello at a contest. Have any of those eaters ever seen or done anything socialy with him outside of an eating contest? No. I can guarantee that besides maybe only one or two, and one of them is a newbe who will learn, the top eaters consider him a pimple on the ass of fly. The only reason any top eater may have said anything nice to or about him is when he cornered one of them into an interview on his play school camera. It’s really out of pity, considering most of the top eaters have done every major network, publication, and media outlet in the world. For the most part eaters just ignore him and throws him a pity bone once in a while, with the logic that it’s just better for everyone to tell him what he wants to hear and not make him any more unstable. As 1039’s post shows he’s just too dumb to know it. Good advice for rookies and those who post here.

Not all rookies are created equal….. Here’s the difference: Molly dissed the product outright on the morning news (not the best idea). Was it intentional? Probably not. She slipped up, not her best moment….. Marcos just said hot dogs “aren’t his favorite” (hardly an offense: just stated personal preference, didn’t diss the product)….. Ultimately, whether Molly and Marcos meant the same thing, Marcos said it in a way that didn’t blame anyone. All said and done Molly won’t be at coney, its no loss to her, and we should all get off her back now……. Miki never “talked crap” about people or sponsors so not sure why she’s dragged into this conversation. Sounds like someone just wants to pick on the new kids in general..

    Rona Conti
    Pat B
    Erik Denmark
    Humble Bob

For 1:00: As “innocent” as that information might seem, it is another example of how trouble gets started.

First, such information should be kept private. It’s personal. Through simple deduction, readers can ascertain either who the “cheap fucks” might be or who did not buy the show. This breeds resentment, and may even pit these “cheapies” against those people who were kind enough to fork over the “measly $3” (and for something they probably didn’t genuinely want, but bought it just for the sake of appeasement).

Second, when people (such as those you have listed) do you a favor you at least owe them a bit of loyalty. Not only can nothing be gained by putting their names up in lights for all to see, it makes them feel like nothing they do in private remains that way if you’re privy to such information. If they want people to know thay purchased something from you, they’ll say so using their chosen medium.

Third, it is unfair to always judge people according to your self-centered standards. People are not “bad” just because they don’t endorse something you created or did. People don’t suck just because they might not like you.

Personally, I know of several people who, through the years, did/do not like me. Does that make them bad or worthy of my condemnation? Absolutely not—-even though I dislike them not liking me. Each of those people have/had a few admirable qualities, and those traits were/are not made less stellar merely by their perceptions of me. I do not like the fact that they dislike (d) me, but that’s their choice. I learned to move on without condeming, so that others might treat me similarly.

You can never go wrong by treating people with the same sentiment with which you want to be looked upon. When you don’t do that it oftentimes comes back to haunt you. It is probably one of the most natural laws of the universe.

Thank you Rhonda. Just another person who was kind and got stung badly. Private should be private. Seiken does not seem to have learned through that upbringing he refers to so often, that there are matters of courtesy.

Rhonda did you buy the show? No so shut up . You can come up with every excuse in the book but cheap is cheap. and no the names mentioned did not buy it out of appeasement. They were avid followers of the show and were curious to watch something that might provide a form of entertainment that was not available in the free shows. Seiken has a good mind to repost those shows and charge $5 . Ill be he will get more response now than he did back then. I think te menchetti show is on youtube but i did not see the Lerman PPV show on youtube. I watched both when they first came out and they were absolutely brilliant. FYI CLC was so impressed with the Ed Krachie Mike Devito show in March 2008 , that he send a load of VHS tapes consisting of various comp eating contests and media stuff to Seiken house via UPS

  61. anonymous said

    June 17, 2013 @ 11:18 am

Rhonda again you are wrong citing your biased feelings towards Seiken because he “dissed ” you a few wks ago. The names mentioned never asked Seiken to keep the gesture under lock and key. Here a case in pt . At my jobsite. a list is posted on the bulletin board which lists non union members. Non union members are craft workers that feel that the union is not doing enough for them to shell out $40 a month in union dues. Union decided to post their names on a bulletin board . They had no qualms about invading their privacy. Im sure it wasnt the most prudent decision but they did it anyway. They could have posted hundreds of names that are union members but thats too time consuming. On the flip side Seiken did the same but at least he didnt post each and every name that did not buy the show. By doing that he is not pointing fingers. Point being is that the majority of people that felt it was unnecessary to buy the show for a measly $3 more than likely go through life as penny pinchers that shop and look for bargains at 99 cent stores

10:54 and 11:18: You are your own problem. I said what needed to be said, though I knew full well that you would rationalize your way out of taking responsibility for your own dilemma.

By the way, you can put me on the “cheap” list. I HAVE bought things related to competitive eating (e.g. at least one of Badlands H&F Albums, Legs’ “Zen … ,” Kobayashi Cards, TBW Cards, etc. But, because of your unappreciatve, “You owe me,” one-way
attitude, I would not buy anything from you, even if free of charge. I suspect I am among the majority, regarding my feelings on that issue.

That’s too bad too, as you have a good voice, you’ve a good sense of humor, and your interviews are often quite entertaining. But your attitude stops me in my tracks. It doesn’t have to be that way, but you seem very content to be as you are. How sad.

Brian, that’s the only way I know how to be, but I concur that many people I’ve met are as you say, and that’s unfair, as well as biased and subjective. If I were slammed someone’s talent just because I disagreed with somthing unrelated I’d be lying to myself.

I may or may not agree people’s lifestyles, sexual orientation, views on abortion, etc, but those are totally separate from talent and skills.

Case in point: I may not agree with Elton John’s sexual orientation, but that does nothing to take away from his immense talent, and I still enjoy listening to his music—-same with Ricky Martin.
