The film is excellent. It explains the jawthritis among other things. Kobayashi’s Mother passed away, he thought he wouldn’t compete, decided to but had not enough time to train. There is much more. They show Joey’s family, they show Kobayashi in Japan with his Father who did not approve initially of his chosen career (yes, it was/is?) but now does honor his achievements. I think Kobayashi would still like to compete against Joey and take back the title but despite George’s assertions, MLE won’t sanction a one time competition. George is presented just as he is. Not a pretty picture.

George cares about money. Not people. He would throw his own mother under a bus if he could make a buck.

George Shea is never presented in a pretty picture and rightfully so. I think he wants to come across as the villian . Has anyone ever said something nice about him?

For a film to succeed especially one with tongue and cheek humor attached to it , it must captivate the audience , Hungry failed to do so because of its choppy footage , rookie filmakers . Most of the poor quality footage was extracted from badly produced you tube clips and the storyline was weak. This film might prove otherwise but past competitive eating flicks have rarely lived up to its hype

I tell you one eater who hates George Shea Don Moses Lerman He refuses to show up as a guest celebrity after they removed his image from the wall of fame but instead they keep that dwarf from the wizard of oz and Conti . What the hell did they do for Nathans?

When ESPN televises NBA game of the week its usually Golden State or Lakers because they have the two greatest players in the world taking centerstage Without a mega superstar like Molly , ESPN 1 has no interest in Sudo and Lesco battling it out for first place which will probably never happen anyway

MLE is not to be trusted because everything is a sectret as to how much the Sheas make from each contest. We know what the eaters make and they make shit compared to what they get for not eating . I think we all know that they clear $250k from Nathans alone but they have to share a portion of that money with others involved with MLE and Nathans. They still clear a nice chunk of change. I believe the MC’s like Barklay and Rich get 1k per event (non nathans) but don’t hold me too it. Airfare and hotel are paid for .
