    AWESOME EVENT! I was very lucky to be right up front for the whole thing and got some great pics too (including some nice shots with the eaters after the contest). I feel bad for X (so close to the money!) and Crazy Legs (”only” 20…he knows he capable of much more). Thing is, even though he didn’t eat up to expectations, he was still so happy for Sonya as she held her check above her head…clapping and raising his fist. A true sportsman.

    I want to congratulate Sonya, Chip, and Humble Bob too. Didn’t Sonya have 12 minutes last year? If so, she ate 1/2 dozen more in 2 minutes less time, though the cakes might heve been softer or easier to eat this time. But you know what? If she didn’t improve she would be overtaken. That’s the sign of a real champion. I really respect her. It is really mind-boggling that somebody that tiny can eat so much and so fast. What is even more amazing is that her mouth seems very tiny and her jaw strength is extraordinary for a female. I have never seen anything like it.
