Pat B sets pizza record

update #3MitchPix has a gallery of the contest

update #2 TCPalm has an article about the contest

update Battle of the Big Apple pizza results from a Pat Bertoletti comment:

1- Pat Bertoletti 47 slices, $1000
2- Hall Hunt 32, $750
3- Nate Biller 19.5 or 20, $500

Does anyone else notice that in the last three months or so the most intelligent eaters have either withdrawn from the IFOCE or dispatched their web site? Brian is gone. Sonya is gone. Chip is gone. Juris is gone. Regardless of what everybody else thinks, they were a big part of the game as far as I was concerned. I don’t give a shit about what is left.

If Joe Larue did not bother registering for this contest then he has no business being in the rankings any longer . He lives in the area so there is no excuse. They could fill his spot with stinky mierniki or brad sciullo

Patrick did an awesome job. He ate his first pizza in the time I ate my first half of a pie just about. He got out so fast I did not think I could catch him after minute one. I was hoping to eat a lot more, but no such luck. I am glad I at least got down 4 pizzas before time was called. The pizzas tasted amazing. They were by far the best I have had in Florida without a question. Scott Van Duzer did a great job with the contest and the food drive and is a real stand up guy. He is doing a great service to the community with his foundation in so many ways I wouldn’t even know where to start.

One of the best contests I have been in. Just as Hall said Scott Van Duzer is one hell of a guy! He was like that friend you haven’t seen in forever and you just picked up right where you left off. An honest and hard working man that is also serving as a strong community leader. The pizzas he made were outstanding and he also has some awesome garlic knots he gave us the night before.
The speed of Pat is phenomenal I don’t know how he and Hoover got through the crusts. The contest was delayed 20-30 minutes and the pizzas got a little cold, the crusts were like beef jerky, but the pizzas were delicious, I’m craving a couple of slices now. This was pretty much my 1st actual MLE contest minus a couple of Krystal qualifiers. I knew I didn’t have a chance against Deepdish and Hoover, and I was actually surprised I even placed as high as I did. I had Damon Serignet and Nasty Nate Biller to contend with as well as 7 other very determined eaters. This was a great experience and hope to do more contests next year. Congrats to all the eaters that came out, great job!

If you’ll scroll down to the actual contest pics you’ll notice the contest pies were 16″ as opposed to the demo pies the night before which were 11″.

The contest pies were made up exactly like the pies in the Familigliiallaiaia pizzas in New York, thats why the record was broken by only 2 slices. Which is also the reason the pie record was nearly doubled in New York, compared to Pat’s old record. It was based on a New York 16′ thin style cheese pizza., instead of the traditional thicker “Italiamerican” pizzas.
There was a an exhibition contest the night before, there is a Guiness world record for a 12 inch pie eaten in 2 minutes and 19 seconds. Three pies were made,I had a 14 inch pie,Pat had the 12 inch pie,and Hall had an 11 inch pie. Pat finished in the 36 sec. range indicated in the pictures. Hall and I finished at the same time around the 45-50 second mark according to the video on my camera. definitely smaller pizzas. Not to mention some great garlic knots right after.
What’s up Nate?! I meant to ask you where you got your 574’s from, I haven’t seen that color combo, unless you switched out the laces with another pair. I’m not a sneaker head but, I love 574’s. They are the most comfortable shoe out and have nice colors.

    Jon,

Those were NOT the same as the Famiglia pizzas. The guy in the photo is measuring the pizza, and it comes out to about 11 or 12 inches. Whoever made those pizzas screwed up, or they shrunk in the oven, but those aren’t Famiglia-sized pizzas.

I need a ride. You Pro’s are a bunch of pussies that are afraid to invite me to your weddings. If someone can just pick me up for Carey’s wedding, it’s not really asking to much. I can give a few bucks for gas/wedding present.

Do you have a short attention span or what? If you read Nate Biller’s post or Jon Bello’s whole post, which might take you 15 more seconds, you’d have picked up that those little pies weren’t the contest pies. Spend 15 more seconds looking at the galleries, scroll down and there they are, the big contest pies!!! Instead, what you seem to be doing is repeating yourself, in the vain hope you can disparage the eaters that competed. Why you do so is the question. Do you think you could take Pat, or the other eaters, if the pies were smaller? Enter a contest and challenge them. Otherwise, you’re just another anonymous punk.

I’m filing a complaint with the FCC to find out who you people are that never give me a ride or say that you’ll give me a ride and never show. I think if I can sue you I will be able to buy a car with Corinthinan Leather seats and then I can go to all the contests I want. Once I have my car, dont even think about asking ME for a ride. You IFOCE guys are the worst car-poolers ever.

I’m also suing Carey and his AICE friends for not getting me a ride to his wedding. I’m so sick of this website and it’s phoney eaters who are afraid to see me break the record for wedding cake. PHONEY! PHONEY! PHONEY!!!!
