Will Millender reports that his team consisting of "Gentleman" Joe Menchetti, Joel "the Cannon" Podelsky and himself won the $2,500 first prize at a wing contest at the New Jersey State Barbecue Championship. The team containing Jon "Super" Squibb and David "Tiger Wings" Brunelli was the runner up.

They only won bc they took a bite of the wing then tossed it in the bucket! Haha Joe is a joke, everyone watching was wondering why they didn’t have to eat all the meat.

A bite per wing? Haha. Compared to some of the wings and debris at some of the other contestants, ours were down right clean as a whistle…

Good on Gent. Joe. You consistently prove that you are among the best in the world in wings. You can probable beat Chestnut. I think Squibb is a fluke who will get kicked widely in the ass when he faces any of the top IFOCE eaters in any legitimate wing eating contest.

Tiger Wings Joe will whip your ass in wings any time, any day. You cry as much as Seiken!

Any doubt now as to whether or not Wing Bowl is a sham?!

They only won bc of this. They only won bc of that. Fact is, they won because Joe’s team kicked your and everyone eles’s ass!

1st of all, on the flaps, I have have an odd ability to strip it well in one bite. Most other eaters are better on the drums. I had more flaps than drums, so there goes the negative one bite theory. It even has a name, “the one pass strip”. When hot, it can be done one handed.

2nd, the anchor of a top level team, was “licking the sauce off the wing” & tossing it in his bucket.

3rd, he wasn’t the only eater on that team, to eat in a similar fashion.

4th, If the wings were weighed, (which is the only reasonable way to judge a wing eating contest) i’m extremely confident that my team not only would have won, but by a LARGER margin.

5th, I’m a sprinter, not marathoner, I can not beat Joey, Squibb, or most of the time Kuhn’s or even Ted “Cpt Butthead” Wilson in a half hr contest. 12 minutes or less in wings is another matter though.

Additionally, I think the wing bowl eaters may have had some trouble because they are used to the smallest wings possible that are properly heated. The wings in this contest were avg. to slightly above avg. & at room temp.

While I appreciate the support, why is Tiger Wings being attacked, as far as i’ve seen, he didn’t post anything, never mind anything negative re: this event?!

So Menchetti you think you could beat Bertoletti or TBW in wings in 12 minutes or less? Joe I not only doubt it, I’d be fucking shocked!

I really wish I frequented this site more often, I would have loved to eaten against Joel again. I beat him in my first contest so I think I could have beaten him again.

I think joel remembers me, maybe not though. I thought it was he and I that ate against one another at the boat show, he was a very good eater and I barely beat him. When I found out the caliber of eater he was I was very excited about that being my first contest. Maybe I’m wrong, if the cannon says he doesn’t know then he doesn’t know. I will definitely keep an eye out for this next year, but from reading this I would need 2 other eaters and I don’t know any other fast eaters, maybe I could get on his team.

Tiger Wing – what makes you such an expert on the old and new Joel? You sucked at Wing Bowl, you sucked and puked at the Nathans qualifier in Atlantic City and from what I heard, you were pathetic at this wing contest. Joel on the other hand is a very gracious individual who has done his talking at the table.

Oh boy, you hang with Squibb who has yet to prove anything and is one ego-driven arrogant person. Cannot wait to see Squibb miss the final round at wing bowl.
