Umm, duh!?! Of course he does. He gets his butt handed to him at the competitions where other competitive eaters show up.

Well, i can definitely see the urge, for will and anyone passionate about what they do, to place in the ‘top N’ of a competitive event; Maybe not constantly but of course to do so from time to time as it is frustrating to do otherwise in the long term. Anyway, if you are really passionate about what you do, you shouldn’t keep your mind off of performing better every time, which is better done when you have actual competition – for your level of skill.

That headline almost looks like a non-statement. There’s only a couple guys I know who prefer always having strong competiton. It’s not because they like the threat of losing, or necessarily wanna get pushed. It’s because they feel beating real opposition gives the win more clout.

Naader, I agree much more feeling of accomplishment. However I also agree with Will in that going and crushing challenges is fun. Just the expression on people’s faces is worth it sometimes lol

Also guys, you’ve done what The first annon didn’t do and that’s use reading comprehension. The question they asked was what I found most “enjoyable”.
I think any eater will tell you they don’t enjoy a contest where they are working hard to beat tougher competition.
Even if the results are more enjoyable.
