Jim Reeves & Daniella Gioia win Brooklyn, Michigan Nathan’s qualfier

update MLive has a contest report Freep.com also has an article

Results from George Shea
1) “Buffalo” Jim Reeves 19
2) “Jimineater” (Jimi Mares?) 12

1W) Daniella Gioia 15 – sole female

The first qualifier of the 2014-15 Nathan’s qualfier has started at Michigan International Speedway . Richard Petty is present. The 2014-15 Nathan’s circuit will start at Brooklyn, MI and finish in Brooklyn, NY.

I think 10 am eastern is the earliest starting time for a North American IFOCE/MLE contest (not counting the promotional contests on local TV).

Well, I guess it doesn’t take much to win the men’s Nathan’s qualifier if it’s the first one of the new season. Why didn’t Crazy Legs just attend this one, rather than travel all over the country trying to qualify at the last second?

Also a ranked MLE eater only did 4 more than the top female in this contest??

Sieken would have done 4 less than the female winner and he is somehow ranked, not sure why he still is.

Reeves is always bragging about doing 25 30 . His total today is right around his average

127 that is a pretty stupid question. If you had a choice of going to Japan all expenses paid opposed to doing a qualifier that you might lose because someone of equal or maybe greater talent is competing also , what would you do?

Youngest female to get to the finals at tender age of 21 with 15 hot dogs is something to be proud of Great job

I just woke up realizing that Seiken should not be ranked 50 more like 70. He is a disgarce to the sport oink oink oink Now do you actually think Jarvis wears a twopay hell no maybe David Kondick and old school eater wore one oink oink Shemlelin did you take your medicine yet or are you smelling seats with Mr Goldstein. Imagine someone waking up at 3am to post this crap ? By the way Mr Zuckowski who competed at Peters clam was an original member of the IFOCE in 2008 at the age of 21 competed in strawberry shortcake in LI and oysters in New Orleans His mom told him to quit comp eating or she wouldnt pay his tuition at Univ of Louisiana . Great kid now at age 27 he seems to have matured. No more of the Buttowski jokes that appeared on here back in 2008

Don’t you have to do min. 20 to qualify?

“Don’t you have to do min. 20 to qualify?”

No, you must do a minimum of 10 HDB to get a paid trip to NYC for the finals in July. But if you win, regardless of your total, you get to go to the finals.

So does anyone think Daniella Gioia got offered a contract? If so do y’all think she should sign or weigh her options?

“in the Nathan’s finals this past July, there were 12 female qualifiers (including the female wild card winner and the winner of the military qualifier) who didn’t eat 20 HDB”

I want to make a correction:

In the Nathan’s finals this past July, there were 9 female qualifiers (including the female wild card winner and the winner of the military qualifier) who didn’t eat 20 HDB. A total of 12 women qualified, but three of them didn’t participate in the finals, possibly because their trips were not paid for.

Sorry, I wish there were an edit function here:

In the Nathan’s finals this past July, there were 9 female qualifiers (including the female wild card winner and the winner of the military qualifier) who didn’t eat 20 HDB. There were actually a total of 12 women who ate less than 20 HDB in the qualifiers, but three of them didn’t participate in the finals, possibly because their trips were not paid for.
