Send Joey, Pat, Sonya, Tim, and Rich against those same eaters and I can guarantee you that it would be a U.S. sweep, even in a 30 minute or an hour eating contest.

If they sent the IFOCE to Japan it wouldnt be the clean sweep you witnessed with the others. Some IFOCE eaters would fall to the Japanese but at least it would have been exciting and more of a show. Pat Joey and possibly Sonya would embarass them. Other IFOCE members would have their hands full.

Everyone knows if the Japanese weren’t so cheap and the IFOCE got to hand pick its eaters to send to Japan all those Japanese eaters would have been destroyed in every event!

I watch these videos realizing this is propoganda bullcrap. It’s like living in Iraq or Afgahnistan watching them twist the news around to make the americans look like the bad guys. This is somewhat milder because its competitive eating but its the same type of picture. This woman that went against rubber gut looks like some japanese foreign exchange student that never ate a french fry in her life. She eats them one at a time and it appears that rubber gut is kicking her ass big time. Then all of sudden the video advances to the end of the contest and the japanese saint all of a sudden made up some huge ground. If you watch the other videos the expression on chapmans face is “we just got our asses handed to us” . Like Rhonda stated in previous comment , chapman plays it off on his website claiming that this was an historic event between USA and Japan and we hope there will be future events like this for years to come. Doesnt he usually play the role of inspector or detective as far as the IFOCE is concerned being intent on weeding out a liar or a bullshitter?. In the Japan vs USA thing everything is on the up and up in his book. What a phoney !

Oh, and let me say that in a fair contest, Rubber Gut too would triumph over any of those ladies in the great land of the rising sun. I mean no disrespect to them; they are phenomenal. But I am fairly certain of that.

As a matter of fact, I believe that right now, as I “speak,” Elizabeth may well be the best AICE eater (or certainly one of the top two or three). Again, that organization needs to use that by marketing her properly.

Me too Anonymous. Given the slow, steady pace at which the Japanese ladies like to eat, and at which they are extremely adept, if it were to ever happen that any one of them ate against The Black Widow, regardless of contest length or food type, I am certain that Sonya would be leading (and in a big way) at each and every time segment of the contest. Those ladies’ strategies would likely be to eat and eat and eat until Sonya slowed down and started to get full, which would never happen.

I would really have liked to have seen Sugawara pull that continuous fry eating thing with Sonya–talk about having proverbial pie in hand!
