Naader Reda announces the Philly's Best in Corona, CA will hold a charity cheesesteak eating contest to benefit people living with MS on Saturday.
A press release lists Sonya Thomas, Eric "Badlands" Booker and Crazy Legs Conti as expected entrants in tomorrow's Wild Turkey 81 Eating World Championship. The contest will be held at The Times Center on 41st Street near Times Square at 11 am. Booker and Conti delivered 81 turkeys to City Harvest today. (picture) update Pat Bertoletti says he would have liked to have an opportunity to defend his 2006/07 turkey titles, but did not receive a contest slot. update #2 Pete Davekos, Allen Goldstein and Maria "Edible" will also compete. Matt Cohen, without any teammates, was the runner-up in a Vermonster eating contest in San Diego for four person teams held to benefit autism research.
A judgeship in the Nathan's finals is available in United for Lung Cancer's charity auction. Bidding (minimum $300) will open tomorrow and close on November 17. The item page says the bidding is for the July, 4 2011 contest and is illustrated with a picture of Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi (who will probably not compete in the 2012 finals). Matt "Sweet Tooth" Cohen is competing in a Vermonster eating contest in San Diego on November 10 to raise money for autism research. Donations to Matt's team can be made on kintera.org. The team is also looking for three additional members.
Octoberfest Denver announces that people representing local charities are needed to compete against Joey Chestnut in a bratwurst eating contest to be held on Saturday.
My Charity Water produced a video thanking Michelle "Cardboard Shell" Lesco for raising money for clean water projects.
PigOut4Hunger is going to do Denver-area eating challenges to raise money for hunger charities. Their first challenge will be at Beau Jo's on September 7.
Michelle "Cardboard Shell" Lesco, Stephanie Torres and Matt Stonie are not just participating in the gyoza contest Saturday, they are also competing to see who can raise the most money for clean water projects in developing nations. Tribune Democrat has an article about "Big" Brian Subich using his Buffalo Wing Festival appearance to raise money for St. Vincent de Paul's food bank and soup kitchen. The article also reports that Joey Chestnut will compete in the Buffalo Wing Festival's eating contest which can be viewed live on streaming video.

Pat Bertoletti has set up a page at firstgiving.com to raise money for the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Pat will match all donations received up to $500 and will award a T-shirt signed by all 2011 Nathan's finalists to the biggest giver.
Randy Santel has a column in MyMissourian about attempting the Hail Mary challenge at the Stadium Grill in Columbia, MO tomorrow. If he defeats the 5.5 pound burger, he will donate the prize consisting of $600 in gift certificates to charity.
The Morning Sun has an article about Randy Santel finishing the 24 inch Gorilla Pizza at Wheat State Pizza in Pittsburg, Kansas. The challenge is normally barred to competitive eaters, but Santel worked out a deal that $500 would be donated to local charities if he completed the pizza.
Pete Davekos will walk 20 miles on May 1 to benefit Project Bread, a hunger charity. He will eat one food item for each of the 20 miles he walks.
"Furious" has posted a video of him cooking and eating a Japanese flag composed of rice and bacon to encourage donations to earthquake relief charities.

Takeru Kobayashi has set up a page on FirstGiving to facilitate donations to the Red Cross for Japanese earthquake/tsunami relief (via email).

Major League Eating donated $5,000 to Save the Children and will match donations by competitive eaters up to $5,000.

Tracy Dixon and Danielle Teal of 102.5 the Fox will attempt Glynners 2 Pound Burger Challenge on March 3 if they can raise $500 to support the adoption of a Ukranian boy.
Fox's Pizza in Athens, GA will debut its new 30 pizza challenge at a charity event on February 22. Diners (in teams of six) can attempt the challenge for free and donations will be accepted.

Registration is now open for the 2011 Oyster Bowl that will take place on February 6 in Princeton, NJ. Registration fees will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
