Bodybuilders take top 2 slots in beef patty contest

The top 2 finishers in yesterday’s beef patty eating contest at Meritone Family Festival in Connecticut can both be found in the bodybuilding.com forums. “Furious” Pete Czerwinski took first place by finishing 14 beef patties in 3 minutes and 14 seconds (video and pictures) and John Taylor, runner-up in the Nathan’s Hartford qualifier, was the only other competitor to finish his 14 patties in the 8 minute limit. Kara Walker won the amateur contest in her first competition.

Ken Federighi wins July 4 Ocean City hot dog contest

DelmarvaNow.com has a gallery of the hot dog eating contest held July 4 at Fish Tales restaurant in Ocean City, MD. A caption reports that Ken Federighi won the contest by eating 16 hot dogs in 12 minutes. J.D. Kisner took 3rd place (the runner-up was not listed)

Apple Ugly contest results

SalisburyPost.com has an article about the July 4 Apple Ugly eating contest. The top 3:

1. Dale Boone, 17 Apple Uglies

Dale Boone describes his techniques in the article:

“I came Monday night with these big cups,” Boone said. “I get here tonight, every single one of them’s got a big cup.

“They’re paying attention to me. That’s what’s scary.”

Boone one-upped them again though: They brought bigger cups of water this time but Boone dipped each of his Uglies in a cup of hot tea.

The article reports that Boone ate 21 hot dogs at an Elizabethton, TN hot dog contest earlier that day. It does not say how he placed.

Anita Choudhary repeats as women’s mango winner

ExpressIndia reports that Anita Choudhary won the women’s division of the mango contest at the New Delhi Mango Festival by eating 1.194 kg of mangos in 3 minutes. A youtube video of the contest is available and says she is the repeat winner.

Joe Menchetti wins first Jake’s Burgers qualifier

Gabe Venit emails that “Gentleman” Joe Menchetti won the first qualifier for Jake’s Burgers contest yesterday by eating 5 Jake Burgers (double hamburgers) in 2 minutes 15 seconds. Gabe Venit was second with a time of 5 minutes and 30 seconds to complete 5 burgers.

Denver hot dog qualifier news video

CBS 4 has video of yesterday’s hot dog qualifier held at Steve’s Snappin Dogs in Denver. Donavan Busta was the winner with 7 hot dogs in 3 minutes and Matt Kish was second. It also appears that Andrew “Skinnyboy” Lane competed.
