update Oct 20 Results have been added to the MLE.com contest page. The official explanation is that Tim Janus noticed he was credited with an extra plate after the contest. The Brooklyn Daily (giving the top 2 totals as 27 & 26.25) and Home Reporter News have contest reports.

Tim Janus and Jonathan "Super" Squibb appeared in the same segment on MyFoxNY but did not compete against each other. "Eater X" promoted tomorrow's cannoli eating contest in Brooklyn while Squibb did a wing eating contest.

Tim Janus (without makeup) and Crazy Legs Conti competed in a pizza eating contest on Mike & Mike on ESPN2/ESPN Radio this morning against Mike Greenberg. They (and Pete Davekos) also competed in a wing eating contest on the program against Mike Golic in 2008.

Eater X wins Mets ballpark Nathan’s qualifier w/50

Andrew Kossuth reports that Prudence from NY was the female winner with a total of 6. (She was not the sole female competing)

Tim “Eater X” Janus won the contest with 50 hot dogs. This is the highest qualifier total of 2013.

This might be the female winner / possible sole participant.

The qualifier to be held before today’s New York Mets game vs. the Washington Nationals has received minimal publicity; it does not appear to even be mentioned on http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/The game time is 1:10 so the qualifier will have an early start.

Andrew Kossuth is the only expected entrant besides Tim Janus.

Tim Janus has withdrawn from Saturday's Nathan's qualifier in Boston and is expected to compete in Queens June 29. This keeps Tom Gilbert's hopes of retaining the wild card lead alive.

Richard Shea claims that the contest will only the third time Sonya Thomas and Janus have faced off. According to the eatfeats database, Sonya Thomas has a career 31-20-1 record verus Tim Janus.
