Here are the upcoming contests on the MLE contest calendar. A kale eating contest in Hamburg, NY on August 13 and a Nathan’s qualifier in Nashville on October 10 have been recently added. A new taco eating contest in Tower, MN on November 4 will also be held. Registration is open unless specified otherwise.

Joey Chestnut ate 5 pounds of food in 7:17 to win the Buffet Bowl at the Buffalo Wing Festival.
PamplinMedia reports that Joey Chestnut will judge a cooking contest Saturday at Chinook Winds in Lincoln City, OR, site of an IFOCE rib eating contest from 2003 to 2010. This will preclude him from doing the Buffet Bowl at the Buffalo Wingfest and probably make travel to Sunday's wing eating contest unpleasant, which he is still doing according to a Daily News Online interview.
Joe Menchetti ate 37 wings to win the Brockport, NY Wing Bowl Thursday.
The Buffalo News reports that Joey Chestnut, Miki Sudo, Sonya Thomas and Gideon Oji are expected compete in the Buffalo Wing Festival on September 6. Badlands Booker, Juan Rodriguez, Yasir Salem and Steve Hendry headline the Buffalo Buffet Bowl on September 5.
The Armor Inn Tap Room in Ellicottville, NY will hold a wing eating contest on September 13 awarding $500 ($300 to the winner). Entrants need to win a Sunday qualifier.

Joe Menchetti appears to have won the first prize of a three year Smart Car lease at today's Dog e Style hot dog eating contest in Buffalo. The contest was billed a an event for local amateurs.
The Buffalo News website has republished an article about an hot dog contest in its January 22, 1975 issue. Tony Domagala ate 18 hot dogs in 20 minutes to win the $200 first prize.
