Some sad news from Stephanie Wu: she has discovered that her throat issues were symptoms of thyroid cancer and has terminated her restaurant challenge tour to focus on her health. Ed "Cookie" Jarvis was diagnosed with thryoid cancer in 2010 which was removed by surgery.

Stephanie Wu announces she has finished 100+ eating challenges

Stephanie Wu announced yesterday she successfully completed the challenge at Uncle Linny’s which takes her count to 100.5. She is the first woman (and fifth overall) to reach the challenge century mark. Others with 100+ documented challenge counts: Randy Santel (250+), Ramsey Hilton (200+), Naader Reda, Ryan “Max Carnage” Rodacker.

Other possible members of the century club include the LeFevres, Pete Czerwinski, Pat Bertoletti, Joey Chestnut.

Taft Parker has finished Shula’s 48 ounce steak
at least 347 times. This might be the overall top mark for challenges done if you do not require different sites.

Stephanie Wu announces she ate two 72 ounce steak challenges at Sayler's in Portland. She finished the first meal in 16:%2 and the second in 56:12. As far as I know, this is the fourth time someone has finished two 72 ounce steaks in a session. Two 72 ounce meals at the Big Texan has been finished three times: wrestler Klondike Bill (1966), Rich LeFevre (2000), Molly Schuyler (2014).
Stephanie Wu announces she completed the Lucky Sevens Challenge at China Blue in Corvalis, OR to claim the $1,500 jackpot.
Stephanie Wu finished the Alaska size pizza challenge at Neighbors Pizza in Yuba City, CA without assistance, becoming the second person to finish the two person challenge solo. (Molly Schuyler was the first.)

2014 Pete’s Grille pancake contest

Stephanie Wu reports that she would have set an all-time record for this morning’s pancake eating contest at Pete’s Grille in Baltimore, but was disqualified for being a “professional”. The official winners are Matthew Ullman (13.5 pancakes) and Mallory Heinke (9.75).

Stephanie has been doing a competitive eating tour of the northeastern USA which can be followed on her facebook and includes new overall records for King Leonidas’ calzone at Jimmy the Greek’s in Maine and the hot wiener record at Olneyville NY System in Providence.

Stephanie Wu finishes Big Texan challenge in 30:40

Stephanie Wu announced that she finished the 72 ounce steak challenge at The Big Texan in Amarillo, TX in 30:40. This would make the five fastest times for women in the official finishers list (a fire destroyed pre-1991 records)

update Nov 12 On her trip, Stephanie also set the women’s record for the milkshake challenge at Crown Candy Kitchen in St. Louis and the overall Onion Burger record at Dust Bowl in Tulsa.
