Grace Lee has posted pictures of last night's meal at Coast in Atlanta where she ate 20 pounds (presumably gross weight, not net) of crab legs to set a house record. The crab challenge was done to train for an upcoming big challenge.

    Grace Lee is Atlanta’s best eater, I keep hoping she’ll enter a MLE contest, but I think she likes picking and choosing where she dominates

    I wonder what 20 lbs of crab legs actually approximates in terms of real food eaten. It’s still a huge amount!

    I would love to see how she would do in let’s say Boarshead Hot Dog Eating Contest Elliott Street Deli & Pub Atlanta, GA. Just wondering.

    @NReda

    Probably between 33-50% of total weight, that is 7 to 10 pounds of food.

    This all depends when they weigh them the crab These are Opilio crabwhich are usually cooked and brine frozen which means a lot of water weight. the actual ratio of usable meat from a cluster is less than 25% so we are looking at a weight of 3-7 lb (7 being real generous)

    @Chef Joe

    Yeah, i didn’t take the frozen thing into acount. I think the usable meat ratio is a little bigger (as i remember from the time i was studying Nutrition), definitely closer to the lowest range i suggested of 33% than 50% though. So it’s very likely to be under 7 lbs.

    The female version of “Furious” Pete. Not a very good eater. But will work to make it seem like they’re a good eater too.

    Regarding @Mrs. Furious comment

    Just in case: i don’t know the girl, so there is no way i would discredit her, and while it might seem like i was discrediting Grace lee (Does it really look like that?) that’s not what i meant, i was just putting things in perspective.

    Moreover, Grace Lee is not fault of talent, as long as stomach capicity goes, specially for a girl, though that’s not the only skill needed for success in CE as everyone here already knows, not that she has stated anytime she wants to join CE.
