I believe you Joe. Which event was that? It's great to have only two eaters who can do that and both of them females.

Ethan Sonya ate 18.5 % of her bodyweight in grits in 10 minutes--18.5 lbs. Show me even one single eater in the world who can eat that large of a percentage of his bodyweight in grits in that amount of time.

I know, size and weight do not matter. It's good that there aren't weight/size/height classes.

My major problem with her being ranked # 6 is she doesn't have all the records she has by being a # 6-ranked eater, and she can't help it if the contests that she set records in don't come up very often, or that a half dozen or so were only exhibitions.

Even if she had been at Acme Oysters and won easily, she would still be # 6 in the IFOCE's eyes, because it's exclusively Nathan's and Krystals that drive the rankings. She is only 5th best in the world in dogs and only about 6th or 7th best in Krystals. That's it in a nutshell.

Take those two contests away and she will finish ahead of Bob 75 % of the time, and Tim 60 % of the time. But that does not matter. That's just the way things are.

My opinion is top 10 should be:
1)Chestnut
2)Bertoletti
3)Kobayashi
4)Janus
5)Shoudt
6)Thomas
7)Simpson
8)LeFevre
9)Hunt
10)Lee

Rhonda, it is true that Simpson has done nearly 40 hot dogs, but the top 5 on my list beat him 9 of 10 times in any other food. Thomas for some reason does pretty good in most foods, but when it comes to the prized dunkable foods she lacks superstar talent. Hunt is getting very close to LeFevre. Jalapenos- Hunt(110), LeFevre(120). Nathan's Final-Hunt(29), LeFevre(31). Krystal Final- Hunt(52), LeFevre(53). Don't forget Hunt also ate 15.5 lbs of grits. Maybe 5 others in the world can do that.

I don't blame Hall. On the contrary, I applaud Hall for his efforts. This poll is a consensus and it's interesting, regardless if Koby is not even ranked or if Hall himself is ranked one in the world. In some ways, in most ways that really count, Hall probably is number 1 in the IFOCE.

I really had to laugh at this one. It's interesting, but not based on talent. The way the trend is, Hall will be above Kobayashi soon and Sonya will drop out of the top 10 altogether by next year at this time.

And how is a man who eats 39 HDBs ranked # 10? You gotta love it. :)

Sonya will likely beat both X and Bob in Three Brothers, just as she did last year (in that more legitimate nondunking food) when it took Pat having to break his own record from last year to win. But because it's not Nathan's or Krystals, it wil be as if it never happened.

Then she'll finish ahead of Bob again at Nathan's, probably doing the double deuce, or very close to it, but because it's not Krystals, that won't matter either.

However, having said all that, the IFOCE does look at Hall's initiative, and their rankings don't stray too far from it.

Help me out here Joe. At least I appreciate the courage with which you display in voicing your opinion, whether I agree totally or not. A good part of the time you said things that were not politically correct, but that made a lot of sense. That's why I liked speedeat. I actually miss it.
