Is the Jonathan Squibbb in the movie the same as Jon Squibb, who won wing bowl?

I wonder if Seiken will throw a tantrum if he doesn’t get a free ticket.

Seiken has finally gotten the recognition he has long wished. Let’s wish him well and hope that he will enjoy and be far kinder in print and in person.

Should have left Brad Sciullo out of it. Kids a joke and a drama queen. He’s not a credible representative for anything.

Thanks. But most of the credit should be given to Brad. We know hes sort of cast in the role of the villain but he stole the show . I just asked the questions

Curtis Sliwa doesn’t belong in the movie. He deleted the tweet on his twitter page by someone who mentioned he was in it. Rather talk about Gulliani. During the Nathans contest this year he went on his talk show that nobody ever listens to, and bashed the IFOCE for banning him in 2003 from doing commentary . on Nathans contest.

This movie will set a trend as a groundbreaker of epic proportions. I believe the magnitude of the film will surpass that joke of a film about wingbowl and MLE Rivalries which was a pretty decent movie.

Is the intro theme song from Rocky 3 the only non copyright song they could come up with these days? Ive heard it countless number of times and to be honest it’s about as redundant and stale as MLE intro of the Who song Baba O’Riley

If all who follow and participate in competitive eating would stop trying to trash others and come together instead, the sport would grow and all would gain. One more film getting lots of press, that is terrific. Many others paved the way long ago and more will be coming in the future.

The only trashing seems to occur with MLE.. APE eaters never trash one another from what i have seen over the years. MLE has been void of a positive role model in the organization or a so called team captain to keep everyone positive. Joel The Canon would have been a perfect team leader for MLE and just being around me would have made other eaters in MLE better people . It is unfortunate that he chose another organization to align with before he found out about MLE.

11:26, “team leader”? This isn’t a team sport.

Ok forget the term team leader but here a guy that would go out of his way to call people in the organization and try to keep everyone uplifted. There has been nobody in MLE since Ed Cookie Jarvis that has fit that role

From the movie trailer this looks to be a very biased documentary against MLE. People don’t understand its a business like any other. Why would they work with the competition like APE? If you want to compete in MLE events that they put on you have to agree to their terms. If you don’t agree then go start your own organization or compete with another one. Its not a hard concept to understand and its not a monopoly like Brad is eluding to. If your outspoken and bad representative for any organization they won’t want to be associated with you. If you have a problem with how much of the money goes to the competitors then again, start your own organization under your terms. Its not a charity. MLE still has the best prize money and most events all over the country. It’s not a sport to make a career out and only the top eaters make a good amount of prize money. If thats your goal then you clearly have to rethink your approach. If the contract doesn’t work for you then don’t sign it and quit bitching.
People like Brad are just a bad representative for any sport. His training techniques are asinine and irresponsible and make competitive eating look way more dangerous than it needs to be. For all his talk about “making a name for himself” because of eating a burger I had to search to figure out who he is and don’t see any notable accomplishments to speak of.

The comment that responded to Josh question did not make it to the recent comments yet or might never make it there. Its obvious as to why.

There are many people in MLE who made strong friendships and helped encourage other eaters. It seems that some people have forgotten about APE problems too. There were some very negative people in APE causing trouble. This happens in every group, every organization. Kobayashi became the story precisely because of the controversy and his decision to leave MLE and his arrest. It will be interesting to see what story the film tells and the response to it. Not sure why certain people appear listed as in the film. It could be that some MLE people in the film are in non copyrighted material.

There were very negative people in APE is an understatement . No longer with them . Good riddance
