Joey Chestnut at U of Alabama Oct 20

TuscaloosaNews.com reports on the Krystal prequalifiers which will be held at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa:

On Saturday, Chestnut will demonstrate his winning jaws at the Krystal Square Off qualifying competition on the Quad before the Alabama-Tennessee game. The winner qualifies for the Krystal Square Off finals in Chattanooga on Oct. 28.

The preliminary trials are open to anyone who thinks they can put it away without having it come back up, and the top 10 will go on to compete on Saturday. But would-be competitors should know who they’re up against: Chestnut’s personal best is 91 Krystals in eight minutes. The current record is 97, held by Japanese eating wunderkind Takeru Kobayashi, who, until this year, was also the six-time world champion of the Academy Awards of competitive eating: the Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest held in Coney Island each Fourth of July.

B.B. I’m sure that’s a big load off Joey’s mind. “Whew!” he’s saying. Honestly, that’s really unfortunate and I’m sorry to hear that.

Will you be able to do Ramen Noodles later this month? Given most all of the names who will be at Krystals the day after, you should have a fair chance to finish near the top I would think.

And this invitation only stuff is crap if that is true. It’s not like the Masters championship in golf. Any MLE eater should be able to go!

Sorry to report, I will be there!! Joey Chestnut had better be ready…I plan to eat at least 1/5 to 1/4 as much as he does….if I can qualify. But, boy, this will be a travel nightmare!!

I was not invited to noodles Rhonda . Times have changed what can i tell you. An unnamed eater in vegas not in the top ten was casually asked at the show if he wanted to compete in noodles . He isnt even sure if he wants to do it. Now you see how the ifoce conducts their business.

Brian that is nothing but a bunch of crap! That’s like the PGA dictating which of their golf professionals can and cannot go to their nonmajor golf events. They owe you a lot Brian. Fairness needs to be reciprocated — what one-way c**k su***rs they are! I

I hope either no one shows up or that the sponsor breaks it off in their fannies!

They owe him a hell of alot. All the promotion he gave them regardless of whether its good or bad. I cant blame him one bit for not mentioning one damn thing about that dumb spike show that aired last night . I think he should drop his website and leave a final note trashing that entire undgrateful organization . He is right when he uses the word “spite” because they make their decisions solely out of spite.
