Joey Chestnut did an interview for News 12 which reports that representatives from MLE are not sure if the 2020 Nathan's finals will take place in 2020.

    Dangling, so foolish. I suppose they could do virtual contests and pick the highest numbers. But there will be no opening up for so many people to watch so what is the point? They just want to keep people interested.

    Who wants to watch Joey Chestnut eat or even break his own record by himself online. Just like Kobayashi failed to get support for his demonstrations. Maybe it is too early to cancel from MLE point of view but surely they will cancel it. Maybe they could have elephants eat against each other. That might attract viewers. MLE has been known to do many PR moves.

    some years ago there was the major league eaters vs real elephants to see who could consume the most hot dog buns / I think it was in coney island as an exhibition Juliet Lee was one of the eaters

    I am not sure where they would get elephants. Ringling brothers circus closed three years ago.

    They could get my little Wayney to hoard free items to use for the contest so all the food consumed is free. He’s really good at that. He’s a hero.

    The PR stunt was definitely held. It was more than three years ago. I think one of the eaters was Hungry Charles.
