awesome. it means that in 10 minutes, he would have eaten 70. not to mention that his technique is eating even faster towards the end.. so maybe even more. just goes to prove his IS in his prime. this video proves that his era is NOT over… in fact, it is all about Kobayashi. he is in a completely different league. this kid can eat probably even eat more now than he ever did before.

i respectfully disagree. i don’t think that eating 10 in the first minute translates to 70 by the end of 10 minutes. And exclusively in the short game there are probably others that can eat faster than him. However i agree that the combination of fast and long he could be the best.

66 hdbs in 10 minutes… that is the record. the conditions were ideal. in my opinion it is unlikely to be duplicated until the food conditions and competition is also duplicated. Kobayashi is awesome, maybe the best, but that doesn’t mean that he can eat 70 in 10 minutes, nor does it mean that his rate on the first minute can be extrapolated to the 10th minute. We may never see 60 hdbs again. They have been trending downwards. food conditions will determine if any competitors can race towards 70. without kobe, joey never comes close to 66.

hahahaha…yeah, eating is definitely not a linear deal. or mayyyyyybe he could eat 7,000 hdb in 1,000 min??!!?

Koby did 11-12 HDB in the first minute last time he competed in Coney Island, so did Joey. So it’s definitely not a lineal deal most of the time. However, Tim Janus did eat more hotdogs in the last 2 minutes of that contest than koby did and i’m almost certain he ate more hotdogs than Joey in those minutes as well. Tim did eat at a very steady pace, and probably Sonya did as well.

There are differents aprroachs to competitive eating out there and i think than eating faster at the beggining is not a must, as long as the stomach capacity of the eater doesn’t get maxed out in the process of course.
