This looks a little desperate. Kind of like showing up at the Nathan’s event and trying to take the stage after the contest. But who would ever advise Kobi to do that? But, this rooftop thing will get covered. I just think it’s beneath him to do it. Hey everybody look at me! I’m relevant! Once again, maybe Yoko’s pulling the strings on this one.

Ha, That’s classic! I wonder if this “exhibition” will be him eating hot dogs for ten minutes at noon EST… maybe that vegas bookey can take bets for Joey and Koby after all.

Maybe the two surviving Beatles can join him on the rooftop and sing “Get Back” while hes eating the hotdogs

I don’t know about Ick. He could be being paid $10,000 to do this and wouldn’t have to defeat anyone. He has already done Nathan’s so many times and what would he be gaining by doing it again and again while he is living here and getting beat by Chestnut? You have to wonder about Chestnut’s health doing so many hotdog runs.

His health? . Just check the nitrate level on one Nathans hot dog .Its a grim picture in the next 10 to 15yrs. High blood pressure, colon cancer, heart disease if you doctor tells you otherwise then his license should be revoked for impersonating one .

Speaking of Nathans i think they should enforce penality warnings for debris like boxing . In boxing the ref issue warnings for rabbit punching which is hitting behind the head low blows hitting below the belt , If a boxer fails to adhere to the warning the first time points are deducted. By issuing a warning to the eater at least it gives them a chance to clean up their mess before the actual deductions take place at the end of the contest

Seiken makes absolutely no sense to me, I guess I am not in his inner circle and happy about that. As for Kobayashi, I think he is being very smart. He will get more publicity by doing what he is doing than by doing Nathans. If he is a hit, there will be more opportunities. As long as there is a Joey and with Koby’s limited English, he could not be the spokesperson for MLE and make lots of money.

Listen I think we have too much litigation in our lives. But is there a lawyer out there who can answer if what Kobi and this bar is trying to do without the permission of Nathan’s and ESPN is legal. I mean they have hundreds of thousands dollars wrapped up in this event, and I wonder if they would get all lawyered up over trademark infringements, rebroadcasting licensed materials, etc.

There is absolutely nothing illegal about what Kobayashi is doing. You do not need a lawyer to know this. A bar is going to show something on television, a completely public showing. A person who is a celebrity and used to be under contract but is no longer under contract to the eaters on television is going to give a demonstration at the bar as a celebrity and be paid for his appearance.

Can anyone answer how to watch this……I know it is down to the wire but…………I guess there is no live feed but there should be lots of press at this event as well. I bet we can catch it on the news later. Clever event.
