I was there when it happened in 1997 . It was just publicity for Nathans and then four years later he officially got the ball rolling starting with ice cream. There was no prize money in the first couple of contests. In 97 there was only myself, Kevin, Badlands, Sliwa , Krachie and Devito. Sliwa was the big media draw because of the guardian angels and his radio show. They intended on making him a partner in the IFOCE but he stood them up at the initial meeting.
