Why, oh why, have they done away with the two-minute qualifier? Those of us who are total amateurs but still get a kick out of the whole thing could at least go and have our shot. It may be fun merely to follow the big guys, but aren’t we losing a lot of the fun by missing out on the ability of us ALL to compete in the kiddie round?

North Pole, I’m like you. I’d like to see MLE set rules to eliminate dunking (that will NEVER happen, however), because that way you would get a truer picture of eating (as opposed to drinking) talent. Eliminate dunking from Krystals and hot dogs and you’ll see the numbers decrease by about 40 percent.

Kobayashi has shown twice why he’s the best eater in the world—-in brats and chicken, where he dominated the best eater in the U.S. Similarly, It is my opinion that Pat Bertoletti is arguably the best eater in the U.S. He doesn’t need the water, and his speed is better than Joey’s.

Said another way, regarding the need for water, Pat’s more of a reptile; Joey’s more of a fish.

That’s true, that’s really true. Not only am I but a neonate in understanding how to properly use the language of competitive eating. I know absolutely nothing about it.

There … the Krystals are out of the sack. (I’d like to be in the sack right now.)

Rhonda has learned the vocabulary of competitive eating without understanding how to use it. It’s enough to allow her to fake intelligence and insight but it doesn’t actually give her any.

But Rhonda isn’t smart about competitive eating. She writes stuff, and she writes so much of it that people believe her, but her thoughts actually are pretty worthless. She has no instincts for the sport, a grasp only of some of the statistics (which she researches as the need arises), and a general ignorance of what actually occurs in the mind and body of an eater during a competition. Rhonda’s not illiterate, so her comments are coherent, but she’s stupid about competitive eating. Don’t flatter her.

(Butch) Rhonda Evans may or may not be the real name of the individual that posts under that name on this web site, but at least that person uses that same name every time. How can any person who posts using the name Anononymous or anonymous be taken seriously? I visit eatfeats for three major reasons: to read about what contests are upcoming, to read some of the better known eaters’ comments, and to read Rhonda’s thoughts and commentary. If the truth be known she’s probably one of the most intelligent people who posts on this site, if not the most intelligent.
