Post some videos Kyle. Didn’t look like you won. Looked like they have it to you cause you were the local favorite. Regardless, you ate well and Boone got whooped.

I heard sore loser Boone demanded a recount then stormed out of the place not even congratulating the winner

I do not think Kyle won

Kyle won I sat beside him and Boone at the end when they were checking Boone scooted al of his dropped lettuce into a pile and then stomped under foot to hide it I called him out on it and then reported it to the judges … Boone is in my opinion a cheater and a sore loser who cant stand to be beat I told him so and blocked him from my facebook page along with his WLOCE which seems to only take place in India unless he believes he can come in and shut people down … I have no more use for Dale and regret ever thinking of taking up competitive eating last year when I took second place against him … and lets take a second to talk about last year with Mr. (and I use that loosely ) Boone he arrives on the scene and gathers all of the competetors around back and begins to play mind games (which I and Eric “Ez” Young called him out on ) asking us how we practiced etc etc I refused to tell him which seemed to upset the big guy as we approach the stage he pulls out a bottle of lemon juice and pours some into his water (This is important because he will swear up and down he never did such a thing ) as they tell us to get ready he begins to sprinkle water and lemon juice over his tacos (of course he will say he did not ) he takes a taco nearly to his mouth and they say go … now I told you this to inform you what went on this year .. Tod Morales the owner of T-Mo’s tacos told all competitors this year it will be completely clean no lemon juice no preparing tacos until they blow the whistle to go after that it was fine to douse them with water but nothing that was not placed on the table by the judges Boone was very very unhappy so the competition starts there was no close Kyle had the tacos down very very fast Boone was not nearly quick enough slamming the table twice in anger with a taco still in the tray Kyle won clean John came in second Boone was third and Jeff (that being me ) took fourth … any how he threw such a big fit he left with out taking his prize money and I for one will never eat against him again if he is at any eating competition I decide to enter I will walk away

I was one of the slower eaters there. I don’t think Kyle won either. Boone made a mess. He was trying to stomp debris into the stage with his feet. I thought his belt said world champ, but it must have said world chump.

Boone never deserved to hold a ranking in the IFOCE nor did he deserve to be known as a major league eater

To anon 12:20, I was at other end of table and when the dude with the captain America hat threw up his hands I stopped and looked down the table. Boone still had one in the tray and kyle just picked up his last taco. He was done so fast they didn’t even know what happened. Everyone was watching Kyle and Boone. This contest was a mockery. From what it sounds like I shouldn’t expect any more with Boone there.

Hanner, Hammer, Homer… Forget for a second the odd misspelling, self-nicknaming? What the hell is th connection? …none of this matters. U can’t play with the big boys, u r bringing down any chance of being relevant. Beating Boone is not an accomplishment…

irrelevant… first of all… if you knew anything about the hammer you would know that his nickname came from his followers. sure, over the last year we have labeled him as many things such as your hammerness, hammeronomy, Lord Hammer, Hammer Christ, Dutchess Hammer, kyle the hammer that nailed jesus to the cross hanner, drop the hammer hanner, hanner salad, hanner montanner, toss the hanner, and i hannerred the bed.. to name a few even at one point early in his competitive venture we called him hard boil hanner…simply for his sheer ability to demolish a few dozen hard boils in one sitting. irrelevant… dont hate cuz you aint. i have seen the footage and know the true winner.

by the way the connection… are ya a ratard….. the hammer as in the hammer is about to put the nail in your coffin… as in the hammer just dropped that steel on that weak ass… as in the hammer still takes all those titles.

    psssshhhhhhhh

Beating Boone is an accomplishment it says “Hey look ya blow hard you really do suck” I mean if you think about professional eating even if you win gold your still a loser in the eyes of most people

4:48 aka ‘the hanner’ – speaking about yourself in the 3rd person is douchey and lame. ‘We’ doesn’t cover up that fact. What have u accomplished? Beat Boone? You have no fans following you on YouTube, twitter and they certainly aren’t posting on your behalf. Win money in MLE contest THEN you can ‘drop the hanner’ whatever the hell that means to you.

    Psssssh

This is humorous. I eat for fun. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. I enjoy competition. I especially enjoyed yesterday.

Those are just a few facts about me. “The more you know”

Also, I’ll probably talk to Seiken tonight. So you all can get your fix. I tend to be a people pleaser.

    “I eat for fun.”

Maybe, but it seems to me you also eat because of ego. For example, you’ve done a very thorough job of marketing yourself:

    custom merchandise
    a fan contest on facebook
    custom twitter hashtags (“#DropTheHammer”, “#HamFans”, “#HammerTime”)
a distinct look when eating (special sunglasses–even when it’s dark inside, always either a custom Hammer shirt or St. Louis Rams customized jersey, a custom hat or headband)
a personal website in the making

Maybe you want to market yourself for professional reasons, but I think this is also a sign or narcissism, especially when you still have a ways to go to prove yourself as this worthy.

You also appear arrogant in some of your postings:

    https://twitter.com/kphanner/status/472779533121105921

“50 mile bike ride. Check! Time to beat the “World Champion” in tacos! About show Boone how to #DropTheHammer ”

Boone may be an idiot, but still, you shouldn’t talk that way in public.

    https://www.facebook.com/hammerhanner/posts/630610133652842

“My next projected taco contest will be May 31st in Bethalto, IL. Looks like I’ll have to claim my first taco title then!”

Don’t boast you are going to win when you haven’t done that yet. Be more humble.

Gourmand– You just gave me some great resume material! Thank you! 🙂

I, in fact, went to school for marketing. I’m sure you already knew that due to your vast knowledge on everything I do online.

Also, I do like to keep the public updated on upcoming events and results. @ojrifkin isn’t going to find everything I do without me putting it out there.

Confidence is key when participating in any sort of competitive sport/activity. I’ve been an athlete since the age of 3 when I started wrestling. (Thanks, Dad!) I know how to respect people and be a good sport. But when it comes down to it, I like to think that everyone lives by the “Golden Rule” AKA: Treat people the way you want to be treated. I give respect to people that deserve it. Which I hope to be everyone. (Boone isn’t one of those people)

Obviously, yesterday’s contest was easily achievable since Mouth only posted a 3:25 time the previous year. The general consensus of EatFeats also agreed that it was a slow time. So that’s where the confidence came from knowing that I could beat that time. And according to the taco contest I did with Palmgren in Peoria, (When he won it with 36 in 10 mins) we could both average over 3 tacos a minute. And that was for 10 minutes. So there’s that information.

    I welcome anymore questions/comments!

    Thanks again, Gourmand!

I don’t know why there is such strong hate for Kyle on here. I met him in person at a contest recently. He’s a charismatic guy and that’s with the fellow competitors, the staff, the owner(s), and the people watching at the venue. After winning, he bought 3 of us a round of drinks at another bar. Now I haven’t seen how he acts after losing; hopefully I can beat him one of these times and see for myself. I’ll just say in my limited interaction with him, I didn’t find him to be the arrogant person that the hater(s) in this thread make him out to be.

He is right there is video and you can clearly see Kyle beat him on the other video you can see John beat him also …looks like the only guy who didn’t beat him was that Braveheart guy in the video and he doesn’t seem to care

Thanks for posting Kyle and explaining. I think my post above came across as a little too harsh, and I am sorry for that. The reason I posted is because I do think you are a good talent, and I wanted to try to give some advice, at least from my perspective. Of course, you are free to do what you wish. You are also young and still learning, which is a good thing; and I see potential in you. It’s good that you are confident, but I would try not to give even the appearance of narcissism. You may not trying to do that–afterall, it’s hard to judge someone from an online experience only–but it’s good not to try to turn people off who may not know you personally. A good example is Matt Stonie: a great eater, but always ultra humble. You’ll find very little hate for him. He also posted a little bit a few years ago on this site, but now you never see him post, as with most of the other top-ranked eaters. He became smarter and realized that responding would only create more wars. I’m not saying you shouldn’t post, as you have been very cordial here, but with all the hate here, you’re only bound to draw in more haters that way. It’s something to think about. Of the few top-ranked eaters who post here, they too are very cordial, like Larell Marie Mele.

So good luck, and I hope you get more victories!
