Lauren Takao will attempt the 12 egg omelet at Moose McGillycuddy's in Honolulu on Wednesday's Man vs. Food: Nation, the final new episode of 2011. Lauren was one of the five finalists in the program's casting call video competition, and she will appear on television before the winner of the contest, John Lomascolo, whose episode is expected to be televised in 2012.

It’s a shame it has to be like that Randy. Too bad about the politics.

How do you know that you got more votes? And how do you know the show is over?

Ok, so you promoted a lot and did a lot of work, yes, but you still offer no real proof that you got more votes, or that the show is over, so you didn’t answer either of my questions. You definitely have a good video, but just because you promoted a lot, and clearly don’t really know what exactly the other contestants did, doesn’t mean you actually got the most votes.

Randy, your promotions were terrific. You’ve got to be kidding me is the right response. I am not sure that what happens in “Show Business” is called politics, it is more about what the decision makers feel is best for them at any given time. Things can change instantly. As you wrote, you will never know what really caused the decisions made. The good thing is that in something like this you have planted lots of seeds. You never know when those seeds might sprout, people have seen you, the restaurant, etc. etc.

No eaters could have promoted themselves without the developments on the internet. Some self-described old school eaters of MLE/IFOCE forget that it is the Sheas who really started things with Nathans. They got to take the ride. I am not diminishing their achievements, dedication and talents. New eaters benefit from MLE should know the history and respect those eaters. But it was a different world then. You cannot compare it to things available now, both for them and for independent eaters.

MLE is not the only game in town any longer, but it is the most recognized and sought after for many many reasons and continues to grow. But as you say, if you are MLE, you cannot attempt so many of the things you are doing. It seems you have chosen well for the things you hope to achieve and you will continue to get recognition as you work toward your goals and accomplishments. Well done!

Randy appears to be correct that the show has been cancelled. The Travel Channel 2012 schedule:

The website referenced is outdated and very over even if it is resurrected. Super old news filled with unverified information and lots of rude and hateful remarks. Some good stuff but overall, the person did himself in. No one here wants to see his name which he still keeps trying to insert. Hate to write this, no doubt there will be a reaction but really………..

WLOCE? So puffed up. Get someone who can read, spell and write correctly and post your information. Otherwise the whole organization comes off like idiots. Or just eat and do not speak, show us at the table. Better yet, maybe OJ will help you out and research now to find it, probably trying to already. You can help yourselves by providing good clear information. It is just too difficult to understand most things written about WLOCE.

And this site provides accurate info?. A phantom anonymous creep who relies on Google searches to get his first hand info instead of getting confirmed verified info from the horses mouth like seiken had done since its inception and to the very end . Obviously you never took the time out a few years back to.watch his shows that for the most part kept the competitive eating world abreast .Nobody would ever go out of their way to accomplish what seiken had accomplished unless a $$$ sign was shoved in their face.

I have to say, that even I could probably eat a 12-egg omelet in about 10 minutes or so.

Anony 4:46, yes it is sad that Brian craves attention so much he either has to disrupt or laud praise upon himself. I almost prefer the disruptive side of him, because the pathetic, self agrandizing side is too pitiful and almost makes you feel sorry for him. In the years Brian’s been associated with competitive eating you would of thought he would learned a little from OJ. Only once in a blue moon have I ever heard OJ chime in about anything. Yet, OJ quietly goes along doing his job of providing information about what this site is about — competitive eating. In that role, OJ brings deserved admiration to himself by the followers this site and competitive eating as whole. The really sad part is maybe that could of been Brian if he played things diffently. Brian never seemed to get that negative attention is not the same as positive attention. Negative attention is easy. Positive attention is earned and awarded by others, not yourself.
