I thought the meaning of my remark was obvious anony 1:08. That "show the door" logic may be correct for some of the eaters, but not all.

Ryan Nerz will make a fortune if he ever decides to write a tell all book about the goings on in the office of sheacommunications in nyc. I dont know what you mean by minimizing complaints from disgusted eaters Rhonda. I believe that the stand by or no vacancy notification is more like trying to show the disgusted eaters the door more than anything else. Menchetti saw them for what they are worth and so did arnie chapman and coondog. The sad part is that two of the three sold themselves as vindictive mudslinging monsters or many would have left the IFOCE leaving the well almost dry

I think the whole registration process is a farce. The IFOCE knows who most of the eaters are going to be before registration even opens. The registration/stand-by notices are pretty much all smoke and mirrors and politics, and are used as a method of minimizing complaints from potentially disgusted eaters.

If they keep this up the IFOCE will last about as long as a watered down Krystal. No, thinking again, they've been doing this for awhile with few repurcussions, so life goes on.

Actually, I think Joe Menchetti figured this out early on. He might be brash, hard-headed, and calloused, but in a strange way, given his early take on and response to the IFOCE he's probably the smartest eater in the bunch.

10 eaters were confirmed while others were notified that they were standby. The possible confirmations are
Joey Chestnut
Pat Bertoletti
Humble Bob
Juliet Lee (guess after nashville she wanted to see if she was still accepted in the sport)
Crazy Legs
Tim Janus
Steakbellie
US Male (surprise)
Booker
Pat Philbin These picks are unconfirmed but there is a good chance the following names are confirmed for the event

Andrew "Skinnyboy" AKA "A-Bomb" Lane is going to Birmingham? Must be nice telling IFOCE to go stick it. Entering and winning some other independent eating contests. Then IFOCE lets you back in.

Scullio leaves. Joins AICE. Then comes back to IFOCE. Now Lane. What gives? What's on second? No who's on first. Maybe Abbott and Costello can figure this one out?

Oh yea. I forgot. They were both ranked. Some ranked eaters we see recently can do whatever they want.
