Miki Sudo did an interview on WQAM on Wednesday. After criticizing the lack of ESPN coverage for the women's Nathan's finals, she was disconnected (around 7:15). Her conversation resumes around the 12:30.

she should have been disconnected with no reconnect . The nerve to complain about lack of coverage . Cashes a check for a GTD 20k on the the 4th of July for the past 3yrs and thats still not good enough? Now you want exposure? Well talk to the Shea brothers or Nathans about it because as long as they allow women to qualify with 5 hot dogs and buns be grateful ESPN 3 is giving you guys a gift when no other bottom of the barrel media outlet including C-span or public access channel would even bother

Miki can be beat most of the male competition. She of all people has a right to speak up.

3yrs ago she was grateful that she was even able to compete in Nathans because of her legal issues . Give them a piece of the pie and before you know it they want the whole thing

well it is competitive eating… a piece of the pie vs the whole pie are you kidding? Serious note tho, for you guys who are hating on MIki I do not get. She brings up a valid point in not getting the same coverage. I personally would love to see a full 2 hours dedicated to the Nathan contests, a full hour for each men and womens division. I do not care if the numbers dont compare or any of that. The whole point is to feature these eaters on stage and so forth. I for one would like to hear more about more of the eaters. Especially some of the ones not known. Which to be fair when some women who qualify are there because they had no competition during their qualifier, still doesnt hold any less value in having some coverage. It may even bring more women into the sport and more to the qualifiers to try. Its only good things to get equal coverage. I do not see any negatives considering this is a once a year thing anyways.

She had no valid point . Her Lesco and maybe Juliet if she not caught cheating are the only viable eaters at the table No if and or but about it. Aside from those two ESPN is not about to invest media camera time to feature a bunch of women who eating skills are about as primitive as the kids who compete in the neat eating contests. Let sudo ciompete with the men and her easy 20k paycheck once a year goes down the toilet

Not hating on sudo by any stretch but espn has been known to pull funny stuff so it would be in her best interests to keep her trap shut or they might decide out blue to pull the plug on the ladies event Then what? Back to square 1 against the big boys
