Collectively Free, an animal rights protest group that stormed the Nathan's finals stage between the women's & men's Nathan's finals last year, disrupted the Easter Mass service at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City. The rationale for the disruption was the use of ham as a common Easter meal.

Collectively Free needs to recognize or rather respect other’s choices. I simply find it hard to believe that the group would consider disrupting Easter Mass as anything other than making certain that people will not pay attention to their message. No hams were harmed during the service. St. Patrick’s Cathedral should be considered sacred. Perhaps they are another example of the downfall of politeness and the current atmosphere of the national elections. If you want to convince people, there are far better ways to present your views.

These actions have taken place as far back as 1996 in Coney . I can vouch for that because i competed in Nathans finals in the early days . Although their actions were much more of a lesser degree back then . They would quietly hand out pamphlets and flyers on animal rights to spectators but nothing like what we have witnessed recently

The videos of live pigs being grinded into what looks like a chopped liver grinder is enough to convince me

And once again, not a single heart or mind was changed by their aggressive, obnoxious actions.

Ok, I take that back, they probably converted a few people to an actively anti-vegan stance.

They need to do some research and assess their techniques in order to find ones with favorable outcomes. I’m not even against their cause – but their actions are atrocious and self-masturbatory at best. Great way to turn people against the cause you’re supposedly trying to help.

they need to conduct a survey on mortality rate between meat eaters and vegans. If general consensus reveals that the rate of colon cancer and heart disease are the same regardless of their diet, then living vegan lifestyle is pointless. However there is substantial proof that raw vegans who not only refrain from meat but refrain from cooked foods rarely contract any life threatening illnesses and live long healthy lives
