New Poll: Preferred length of eating contest

I have decided to start next week’s poll given that Kate Stelnick’s reply makes the current week’s question about the legitimacy of her feat a moot point. The new question asks what is the preferred length of an eating contest. The Barrick Burger contest on January 21 is the only event on the IFOCE circuit longer than 15 minutes (the Wing Bowl is also longer than 15 minutes but that is not technically an IFOCE event). The only long duration event for AICE is the Zeus burger 3 person team contest I believe. I am curious to see if the competitive eating community would like to see more events of longer duration.

Several very long contests would be a lot of fun. At very few of these contests do we all fill up. I’m much more interested in the idea that someone can eat 20 pounds of food in an hour than the idea that they can eat 4 lbs of food in 2 or 3 minutes. It’s real drama when you can watch a person’s inner struggle to eat more play out upon his face.

I like the sprints better. But watching the long distance eaters (Rich, Carlene, Sonya, Others) is very interesting it has WOW factor. But personally the short game is my favorite.

First of all hello to all of you buddies into eating records, contests, competitions, challenges, and everything related to eating a lot and/or fast.
I have been into all this world of big eating since I was a child and let me tell you that I prefer the longer time stuff, however I would like to train for speed to take parts in contest there in USA. It doesn’t matter if they are AICE or IFOCE competitors, I think we are all members of the big family of competitive eating, I would love to challenge the big names in the sport, I hope to go there soon and meet you all and have some good time. You can contact me to EatBloatHuge@yahoo.com Thank you very much and take care, eat well!

Hey guys, I just took a video of myself drinking a half gallon of milk in about 20 seconds (yes Joey I want to have that milk drinking record, I just love milk)
and I am also trying to improve my speed because I already got the capacity, by the way, what’s the most any of you guys drank with water while training and in how much time? My best speed water drinking record was a gallon in 45 seconds but that was many years ago, quantity record is somewhere around 4 gallons in less than 2 hours (of course I was careful about my electrolytes, I am crazy about eating and drinking contest but not stupid!) 🙂
    Thank you
    Alex

    P. S. Is there a way to post a video here? If not well you can contact me to eatbloathuge@yahoo.com and I can send the video to you, actually I was thinking that we could actually set a liquid drinking contest on yahoo webcam, it would be nice and it would help to our training, what do you think?

Hey Eat Bloat, do you drink the gallon from the jug or cups?

Hi Pat and by the way congratulations on your latest performances, you are doing fantastic my friend, it is hard to say who is the best of all you guys but definitely you are one of the guys who is showing a true committment with the sport. When I drank the gallon of water in 45 seconds was from the jug. When I did the 4 gallons thing was from the jug at the beginning and from cups by the end. It was flavored water so it has some electrolytes, again, I am not crazy enough to have a problem with an electrolytes inbalance! The video I have is a half gallon milk from the jug in about 20 secs. I do really need to practice speed because my speciality has been the longest time eating challenges, hopefully I will improve my speed soon!
    Thanks!
