Both not amature eaters, both competed in Nathans and the spaghetti eating contest..So much for amature only contest. This is why MLE contests are the only true contest..

    1) anybody could enter nathans, anybody could enter the spaghetti. Entering either or both do not make anyone a pro.

    2) neither of the individuals you mentioned have ever ate in a Nathans contest.

    3) it is debatable whether the two people that were actually dq’d following the qualifier could be considered pros. At least not current pros.

This was an all amateur event and I am confident the vegas amateur scene is better than most cities pros. Paul Travato has one this twice and is a hell of a wing eater.

Other than that there is just about no truth to what was said by anonymous@6:07.

A question for you anonymous eaters. If you compete in pro events and lose do you still consider yourself an amature?

A question I still have is the definition of pro event. Does sanctioning by an established CE governing body constitute a pro event? Also, I thought pros made enough money in the sport they were involved in to make a living. In that case there must be many CE pros on food stamps. How ironic.

If you enter a contest, any eating contest and ypu win some kind of money you are now a pro,,If you sign a contract with any eating federation you are now a pro,

Every single restaurant or promotion or contest decides on the definition they’re going to use for themselves. According to The Catch, (a restaurant in Anaheim) participating in any prior eating contest or challenge makes you a pro… regardless of whether you won money or placed.

Naader , Your pretty smart..Ive been connected with all sports for over 30 years now, both collage and pro..As a collegian player , if you took any money to play or any gifts it made you a pro and disqualified you from playing..As an independant eater dont take any cash or payments of anykind and you’ll stay an amateur period”’

So some pros can only eat 5 hot dogs in 10 minutes. What a joke.

deleted, you did not remember correctly. toro at 33 tom had 34. doesnt matter since 5 mins doesnt correlate to 17 mins. some dude had 40 in 5 mins and didnt make past the first round. tom would have done fine. juan had best qualifier number with 41.

Cutter you forget that Tom and Toro are pros that have won many contests $..You my friend are still an amature until you take a prize for eating
