Philly2Philly has a report on yesterday's wing eating contest at Buckeye Tavern in Macungie Borough. Martin "The Rooster" Russo won the contest with a total of 178 wings in 30 minutes. Bill "El Wingador" Simmons ate 32 meatballs in a minute at the event, reportedly a world record.

The meatball record is a Guiness record and very strict when it comes to the rules. You can’t have a meatball in your mouth before you add another meatball, determined by a Guiness judge. That was in no way a record.

Those are tiny meatballs but they do look like the same size as the ones in the kobayashi stunt. Depending on the rules imposed on the previous record holder it might be ok to have a mouthful when time runs out. Looks like a bad run, he probably could have done it faster.

Keep in mind that this even was not sanctioned by 610 WIP nor is considered an official wing bowl qualifier. If this dude wants in the wing bowl he will have to do an in studio stunt at 610 WIP or compete in an official wing bowl wing off which do not occur until December and January.

Is it me or did I count about 22-23 meatballs going into his mouth? Somebody please watch the video and verify this too. Going to the water 7 minutes in and almost heaving at the end. Come on wingador you are not that good

Whatever the hell he ate who the hell cares. Let him think he has a record. He is no longer in the public eye. When he craves attention he comes in and out of retirement for wingbowl more times than he changes his underwear

You have to have prior approval and a application filled out. Also a judge with merit approved.I would be surprised any of this came about.

I remember now seeing photos of Kobayashi and thinking that they were weird until I read that he had to open his mouth for “inspection” after each meatball or other food perhaps to show that he had swallowed the food. At least that is what I remember. Someone else can verify this.

Wingadore is the Bret Favre of CE. Give up the ghost gramps. No one cares anymore. Anyone who watched WB knows u lost by a huge margin. The count before inspection had the Squibb at 313. The meatball stunt is no Kobi. The cheesesteak stunt u did was a joke. No one is buying ur wings. No one cares what ur judging. Who is the guy who ate the wings here? Oh. It doesn’t matter. Never heard of him. 178? Ur about 77 short of winning WB. Wait ur turn bro. There’s a load of people tryin to take down Squibb so take ur ass to the back of the line.

That is correct SI. Koby had to, as you say, open his mouth for inspection after consuming each meatball one-by-one. Otherwise, his total would have been at least double.
