Something doesn’t add up… How would she be able to sign the contract if a copy wasn’t there for her?

A copy was available at the contest, but she was told about this before even showing up at the contest site. She’s describing an email from MLE that showed a picture of the contract.

MLE did not offer he a contract at the contest. They showed her one on a phone. It wouldn’t have been possible for her to sign a contract even if she wanted to

@2.50pm That sounds about right. Appears the story she’s telling has been manipulated a bit then.

So they wouldnt let her compete in the qualifier if she didnt sign? That is pretty bad man.

Listen we all know the sheas are douche bags but the contract thing is not a secret she probably had no intention of signing and was trying to slip past at the qualifier and perform it would be free publicity for her channel they must have emailed her before with the contract

Raina, I understand your frustration, but understand that if you go to a qualifier, you’re going there to win (I would hope so!) and then you’ll need to sign if you want to go to Coney. Hope to see you on ESPN this year!

@3:56 of course not. She would have won and then declined to sign the contract resulting in that spot being wasted. They don’t just call up the runner up winner and say “hey the first place declined, wanna come? “

Raina likes to tell tall tales terrifically torturing toddlers training.

I kinda figured they would of done that. They told me that I would have to sign if i even enter in a qualifier.

@5:18 that is basically what I got out of it, they had to sign a contract in order to even attempt a qualifier beforehand. Seems like DaDarbageDisposal said the same thing with him. Sign in order to even do a qualifier. While I agree they should sign if they win their respective qualifiers if they choose to go to Coney. But that is for them to decide after the qualifier. Not beforehand.

The issue is MLE & pretty much everyone else knows Raina was going to win the women’s qualifier so why beat around the bush? She clearly enjoys competitive eating and wasn’t doing the qualifier for fun.

Frankly, why not sign it? You can still make all the money you want on YouTube, Sheas have let that go. It’s not like Raina is doing a bunch of indy contests to make money. Nathan’s is the no 1 contest in the world. Just do it.

Why are you guys hating on her? She said she didn’t feel like she was ready in her video and was being super honest … she’s only been doing this for such a short time give her break don’t try to knock her down without her being a year in this field jeez

foodbeast and others have helped her get her name out there, she doesnt think she is ready yet and is still trying to improve with the help of them. Now wouldnt be a good time to sign anyways.

Thanks 3:27. Raina is finding her way, just as the above states. Get over the contract. That is the way it is. Sign it or not, if the positives outweigh the negatives, sign it. If not, go independent. At least there are many choices.
