I looked him up on the Web. Looks and seems like a really decent (and smart) guy. (That’s probably why he ate at an AICE event.)

Yeesh, Rhonda. . .how many comments are you going to post saying how great AICE is? I appreciate your passion and like reading your comments on this site, but the IFOCE bashing is getting tiresome/repetitive. Plus, you’re insinuating that people who eat in IFOCE events are comparatively stupid – and that really isn’t very cool.

    Dear KR and whomever else,

I have never said the AICE is a great organization (though it surely IS NOT a bad one by any means). Nor have I ever insinuated that IFOCE eaters are not intelligent. The eaters are extremely bright, overall. Alternately, and as a matter of fact, I have always been a staunch advocate of the IFOCE, and I like George, Rich, and everyone I’ve ever been around or ever heard of in that organization. I like the people, just not the way they operate sometimes. But again, it is a business and they are there to clean up, er, I mean, make money.

What I have said and am saying now is this. Unless you have something going for your, either in the way of talent as an eater (most of the top-ranked dozen or so), or in marketing ability (Crazy Legs, Janus, Hall Hunt, and Erik “The Red,” to name most of them), then you are very limited in:

    1) your chances for winning prize money,
    2) the number of contests you will be able to eat in, and
    3) the fact that you will not be able to participate in eating challenges without rare, special permission.

The dozen + eaters that fit into one or both categories mentioned above would be foolish to leave the IFOCE, and they probably never will. But each of the rest of the IFOCE eaters, unless he or she is a real up and comer with true latent, undeveloped talent, is sacrificing the potential joy he or she might get from CE as a participant, and that person is likely to spend most of his or her time as a spectator, watching the CE parade go by, adorned with the lovely “floats” of Koby, Chestnut, and Bertoletti, and whoever else rises to the top at any given time.

For the less than best eaters that are satisfied with that, then more power to you. Life is about happiness, and happiness is person-specific. If you just like hangin’ out with them and strokin’ their egos, then so be it.

If you’re honest with yourself, you know what I’m saying is spot on!

    Hey OJ Shea:

Why wouldn’t you characterize the event as the World Frog Leg Eating Championship? This little IFOCE marketing website is known by anybody with 1/2 a brain as a vehicle to control CE. Occasional threads regarding AICE is designed to show AICE as “less than” the IFOCE and make it appear that OJ Shea and his elitist bandits are being objective.

Rhonda, you don’t fool me, your attempt to incite AICE and its leaders in an argument with a bunch of third tier IFOCE Eaters is obvious and annoying. Please keep your fake compliments to your self.

Why doesn’t OJ Rifkin (Nerz, Shea’s, etc) fess up to owning Eat Feats and their reason for being anonymous? Why is it that the people who frequently visit this site are not concerned with knowing the identity of the person(s) who own Eat Feats..?

I agree with you Rhonda . Did you deliberatly leave my name or El Toro’s name out when you mentioned names of marketing ability or was that just an oversite on your part. I assume what you really mean is that serious marketibility only applies to Crazy Legs Janus & Erik the Red. where Seiken and El Toro are just there as buffoons or amusement purposes? Do you realize we put our asses on the line with some of our show commentary as opposed to the kiss ass names you just mentioned? Not to mention how we bust our ass to put out a product that we think people might enjoy. We also came to the conclusion that instead of picking up pennies on PPV it would be in the fan’s best interest to view the show for free. I am not about a $$$$ sign like other names i wont mention . I would be satisfied with 200 people watching it for nothing as opposed to 9 or 10 people buying the show . I am also well aware that some of my commentary whether the IFOCE admits it or not is the main reason why my name was passed over for SPIKE or any other recent media promotion. But you know what Rhonda ,i would rather put my ass on the line and tell it like it is instead of taking the microphone and sounding like the late ny mets sportscaster and ass kisser personified , Bob Murphy.

Brian you hit the nail on the head. I mentioned the nemes of the people that get compensated for promoting CE in the IFOCE. If you are informing me that you two get big bucks, then by all means that is my oversight. But I think you and El Toro get nothing at all.

Brian, I am assuming Rhonda is talking about the general public when referring to marketability. Erik and Hall have been appearing in mainstream publicity, as well as the obvious Gotham duo, Conti and Janus. You are very popular here in eatfeats, and with the eaters themselves, but don’t get offended when added to the list of those that might consider an alternate career path.

BB I argee with you 100% The next show should receive a record number of hits excluding all the haters out there who will watch the show out of spite! Ya’ll better hope I don’t decide to put out my debut rap album the RHYME BUFFET. Thanks for all the positive comments those of you who know who you are made on my behalf! When some dude from the PB & J contest came up and asked me what my totals were some guy named Kevin Ross spoke up before I could and said he got DQ’ed he had 0 he did nothing!! If that isn’t some straight up hater S#@T then I don’t know what is!! Mind you own business next time!! I still received plenty of media attention an that’s something I don’t look for it finds me!! I get the feeling some people want attention, and that’s the very reason why their in competitive eating. The only attention I care about is from the girls who satisfy my sexual appetite an that’s a bottomless pit of pure pleasure….

Wow; Toro. . .I didn’t even realize you were mad at me. I meant no offense and if I was teasing you a little afterwards I thought it was all in fun and you weren’t taking it seriously. And I really wasn’t meaning to hate on you by saying you were DQ’d. It was obvious and was announced on the mic and everything, so I didn’t think it was anything you’d want to keep under wraps. I guess I wasn’t thinking straight, but I wasn’t trying to hate on you or narc you out or anything. I feel really bad you’re mad at me actually and I wish you would have just talked this out with me afterwards, rather than coming on here and blasting me about it. We could have worked it out. Man, I really meant no harm and I’m upset you think of me this way as I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with you in the past and I thought we got along well. Maybe my head wasn’t on straight after the contest because of how crappy I felt from eating those sandwiches. I wasn’t thinking about it from your perspective enough apparently. So I truly apologize if I came across like a jerk.

Hey…I loved Bob Murphy, especially when he awarded those 7 dollar bowling jackpots. Just because he was the worst baseball announcer ever (OK, maybe tied with Ralph Kiner) is no reason to speak unkindly of the dead boring player loving midget!!

    Rhonda,
Did you forget about my marketability? I’ve worked my booty off to become the world’s most unknown and only artist-nationally published author-lousy ranked eater-and good bodysurfer.
Now I’m madder than El Toro, I feel like vomiting on my good friend Kevin Ross, I may go postal like BB, write the world’s longest paragraphs like most everybody else, and I demand publicity, love, a recount, an apology, a clean towel, reading glasses (these blogs are long), clean restrooms, and a PB and J sandwich…or just send money.

I never said Bob Murphy was a bad announcer. He was the best the Mets ever had which is why he had such a long and prosperous career in the broadcast booth. Murphy was also an ass kisser company man to the organization. He never uttered a bad word about any of the players or anyone in the front office during his entire career. I was making a comparison with him and some of the media people in the IFOCE. There is nothing wrong with taking that route but i chose to go the other way which unfortunatly comes with a price and i have paid it. As far as Superpaul, and marketability i emailed the office and mentioned you and Toro as possible succesors to Boone. Paul might have to pick up his eating game a few notches to qualify because Boone was a pretty good eater. Paul, I never planned on making a career with the U.S postal service . It was 20 yrs ago and i needed a job real bad . I went from riches to rags (posted that story on BB.com some time back) . The first three or four years on the job i enjoyed fringe benefits the likes you have never seen. I had my own biz inside the biz and had had women to boot. I dont want to ramble on about my career in the postal service because there were more bad times than good but i can tell you i did not work there by choice.I also worked for the criminal justice system. At present i loathe going to the job but i put in enough time to qualify for a pension so i cant just up and leave. In my new book “25 years to life” I will tell all regarding all my escapades over the years in the postal service. It will be alot more interesting than anything ive ever written about in CE.

I’m watching Paula Dean shovel marshmallows and melted chocolate into her mouth and it’s actually kind of hot. Anyhow…El Toro is a PIMP and that’s why I drafted him as a member of the Hungry Hooligans.

As for OJ being an IFOCE insider, I guess I can see that. However, s/he criticizes the IFOCE’s absurd “no restaurant challenges” rule pretty heavily. If OJ is on the inside, maybe s/he can do something about that. Here’s what should be done:

Top 10 eaters should be not be allowed to do restaurant challenges (because of their obvious marketability and the value they bring to the restaurant) and all other ranked eaters should be allowed to.

Please take that suggestion to the IFOCE powers-that-be OJ.
