That crawfish event at the beginning of the year was the epitome of that. But, that's the past, and at least since then things (seem to) have improved rule / judging-wise. According to BB the event Saturday was one of the better-run / better-sponsored ones. I hope the Roy Rogers chain's relationship w/ CE is long and fruitful. I’ll never say never Mega, but as we speak it isn’t legitimate as a sport, because the eaters take it more seriously than the powers that be.
