From the article, it says that Snooki made a paid appearance. My guess is that Kobayashi would be getting paid to appear. And while he may have a good time, my guess is that if he looked closely at the contest itself, he would choose not to participate as an eater, nothing to do with the IFOCE.

Since they started selling tickets to Wing Bowl, when the MLE eaters were allowed to compete, the tickets sold out in a day or two. In the last three years, ticket sales have lagged, and I don’t think they sold out.

The IFOCE eaters are a bunch of panty wearing wimps. Except for Joey, why would anybody not want a shot at $20,000? Guess the Sheas waved the watch on a chain: You will not compete my little mice.

Isn’t Tiger Wing the character who always pukes on stage?

@annonymous 6:48, it seems like everytime I log on here I have to defend myself against people who aren’t willing to put their names behind any statements but here I go again… There is such a thing called loyalty and that is exactly what most of those “panty wearing wimps” have and are showing. This is not a shot at US Male (lets get that out od the way before I hear greif about that), his contract has expired and he is free to do whatever he feels. I fully support Dave he knows that and I even bought a US Male Wing Bowl shirt from him to show my support. Those of us that are under the membership agreement and choose not to compete in Wing Bowl all have our different reasons but this is mine: First of all Wing Bowl isnt taking place anywhere near my house, secondly and more importantly I signed an agreement (for better or worse) saying that the only competitions I compete in would be MLE events and lastly I am proud to be a member of IFOCE/MLE because that means I am among the best eaters in the world and I have gotten to know some of the coolest people through these events. The friendships I have made through these competitions are well worth the face that I can’t compete in events such as Wing Bowl. So before you going around insulting a group of people that you don’t know maybe you should evaluate your loyalties and the reasons why you are a fan of CE.

Wrecking Ball makes excellent comments which should not have to be defended. Loyalty needs no defense, he writes for good or for ill about his contract. The anonymous comment is made only to stir up trouble anyway because let’s be completely real here. No one, even Joey if he could compete or Humble Bob etc. would be a lock to legitimately win $20.000 even if they ate the most. Wing Bowl is notorious for many things. and certainly careful judging is not their long suit. It’s entertainment for many and has little to do with professional competitive eating.

Wrecking Ball – Seriously you think that annonymous 6:48 post was directed toward you? Let’s get some other facts straight about wing bowl 2011. First, if the IFOCE was allowed to partake in this event do you thing the Shea’s would be anxious to call you up to represent their organization at the biggest competitive eating event of the year, my opinion is no, they would be calling up joey, pat, tim, sonya, and all philly based IFOCE members to represent them, not some nobody from Florida who has proved nothing and has 39 people ranked ahead of them. You are highly regard because you can market yourself well don’t kid yourself that you are a great eater when you have nothing to show for it. Your third place at the national sweet corn contest is nothing short of a farce, look at your own records when you go head to head with eaters who are ranked ahead of you. Second, you are not from philly, you don’t know how wing bowl works, and until you have been in one or attempted to be in one, your opinion of the event is not needed or welcomed. It is an uneducated opinion since you really have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to the wing bowl. Lastly, this post is supposed to be about Dave Brunelli, not Sean Brockert. You are one of the most self centered waste of space who needs to turn every post on this god forsaken web site about you. It’s sickening and pathetic and i really hope that the IFOCE revamps their ranking system based on performance because if they do, i highly doubt you even belong in the top 50 bud.

@ really and I can’t beleive I am even responding to this…the comment was made “IFOCE eaters are a bunch of panty wearing wimps” Can we agree that was the comment? so my reply was, “There is such a thing called loyalty and that is exactly what most of those “panty wearing wimps” have and are showing.” I can only speak for myself not for every eater in IFOCE but when you come after an orginaztion to which I an affiliated and have high regaurd for I am going to defend it. Annonymous 6:48 is ignorant and by thinking that I want to direct every post to be about me is ignorant. I simply comment on things either about me, I find interesting or insult either me or my friends. There are plenty of subject I don’t comment about because they don’t fall under one of those three catagories. So before you go off tooting your little horn about me maybe you should get to know me and the reasons I am in competitve eating and if you are going to insult people please try using your name next time, as it has been said many many times before people who insult with out using their names are either cowards or simply don’t have a point and want to start trouble. So which is it really @11:26?

Lol – Wrecking Ball, I luv your posts! 🙂 They’re so to-the-point. I agree w/the contract stuff as well; I knew going into the signing of the contract that that would mean I cannot compete in non-IFOCE sanctioned contests and was happy to agree to that. I’m honored to be a part of that federation and will honor my contract. And, everyone knows I’m friends w/Dave and am not saying anything negative about his decision; I support him and will be cheering him on.
