Alligator.org has a report on a Vermonster eating contest held for University of Florida students. Kurt Gielow won the contest by eating 5 pounds of ice cream in 13 minutes. Two of the other 15 entrants finished their Vermonsters.

2:06 is the record in Gainesville. Hoover’s “friend” set the record in Gainesville a few years ago for the Vermonster at least the girl in the store told me that’s who it was. She said Hoover use to go into the store with a bunch of friends about once a month. They would always buy a small cone or cup of icecream and Hoover would eat his Vermonster for free. Anyhow the record is 2 minutes!!! I think he was named Chuck Rhoads or Wes Bowling, but I was looking at the picture and the dude looked a lot like Hoover himself. It must be. I doubt any “friend” of Hoover could eat such a huge sundae in only 2 minutes. Anyhow these guys were not pros in the contest fund raiser and they killed super! 13 minutes is not too shabby. The contest was AWESOME!!!! Cheers! I love what you Major League Eaters do. Keep amazing me with your eating talents! I love it.

it’s not humanly possible for anyone to eat a vermonster in 2 minutes. if you melted it, blended all of the ingreients up, and chugged it a pro could probably down it in like 4 minutes. but in it’s solid form, that’s impossible.
