Announcement: EatFeats.com database

I have set up a competitive eating database at EatFeats.com The database currently contains all the results I could find starting with the middle of 2005. I intend to expand the database to include earlier contests and restaurant’s “walls of fame” for eating challenges. Users can modify data about an eater or contest but not results. The modifications require approval before appearing in the main database. I hope to allow users to add and modify results soon. I also want to have this blog accessible using the eatfeats.com domain name. Any suggestions on how the database can be improved are welcome.

Updated 1/22 10:00 pm The 2002 pickle contest has been added to the database ahead of schedule due to popular demand.

Give the guy some time! I bet he tries to go back to the 1800’s. Its an excellent start! Or as Rich Shea says, ‘a rabbit in a cave surrounded by 20 cavemen was the 1st competitive eating contest’. I think it was won by Ringo Starr.

If a person wants to atone for past sins, I feel he should be allowed to do so. I have always found him to be a worthy competitor and if he can patch things up with Big Brian, the Sheas and some of the other eaters he may have offended, perhaps he should be allowed back in the IFOCE.

You would have to bind menchetti to a contract that would restrict him from pulling any fast moves. menchetti will give you the all is forgiven and promise this and that but after a while he gets bored and would go back on his word. I think this is why the shea’s don’t want him back in the ifoce. He should be given another chance because he is a good eater. Looking a little like Pete Rose doesnt help his chances either

I never knew about this sport till the fourth of july showed up on espn three years ago. This dude from speedeat is before my time. I can say as a person who has follolwed sports radio and other sports teams my whole life, the eating world is awesum but too small for imitators like mr greenjeans and his group and they probably water the game down by being third rate and not funny or sharp. just watch the high def shows like pumpkin pie, it’s pro leagues baby. the xfl had serious cash and supporters and a nbc deal and still didn’t even make it. there is nba, nfl, mlb and ifoce! maybe i am in a bad mood. my panthers struck out and that sucks bad.
