Comeback Kid? What did Koby come back FROM?

WIP has a video that THEY taped themselves & posted on THEIR own website of the eating. Squib is going nuts, Kobi a slower second, & there is a girl in a blk dress picking thru the plate of bones Wingador already ate & taking meat off of them. Seriously. I never wanted to believe WB was fake til I just watched Squib get screwed out of his crown. WB = WWE

Why didnt anybody mention primadonna Kobi’s perks from WIP? They paid to have him appear at the 76ers game, they paid for him to have shirts made w/OUR liberty bell, they paid to have OUR Mummers on his float, they paid for his float to be OUR art museum, they paid to make him Rocky, they let him show up at the end of weigh in, they let him show up right before the contest started, they gave him $10,000 just to compete, they gave him his own locker room before wingbowl, they gave him a plate in the first round, he had 9 ppl standing w/him on stage, they gave him multiple plates of wings before the other contestants, they let the rules apply to everyone, BUT Kobi. They crusted him in our symbols of country, city, & pride & then made sure he won.

I feel sorry for Squib. He was the champ. Angelo used him til he could buy someone w/name recognition. He called Squib names on air & at wingbowl. He pulls down his pants & craps on that kid whenever he can. It’s a shame ppl think this is real. I used to believe it, but now I know better. Especially after watching that video! RIP Squib- the ppl lost a good guy & a good champion. You’ll be better off w/o this.

Kobi is no come back kid! He pretends to have jawthritis and had picks the events he does. Mainly the ones they pay him and fix like wingbowl20.

Wingadore was called a come back kid in SI. He came out of retirement to face Kobi? Weird. I thought he just got beat last yr? Oh he did.

This contest is nothing, but lies. If they are smart they’ll give it back to the locals and cut the cheating and lies.

The more you post stories about how the contest was fixed and nothing but lies, means you cant get enough of it. You are giving Wingador Squibb and Kobi loads and loads of rock star publicity and they love every minute of it

Why do you care if someone gets some publicity for doing well at a contest? They probably deserve it, and should enjoy it if that’s what they like.

Two announcements occur each year immediately after WB:

    1. El Wingador announces his retirement.
    2. Angelo proclaims this may be the very last wing bowl.

I actually wish both announcements would come to pass, but I strongly suspect my desires will go down in flames on both counts.

I don’t feel too badly for Jon, however, as I suspect his new car will go a long way toward healing any sense of loss he might have.

Regarding the poll, concerning what is the most significant factor in larger totals for Wing Bowl 20 (And, by the way, the significant increase in totals began several years ago.), I think it’s a combination of two reasons:

    1. Leniency in determining what constitutes a “clean” wing, (as long as you eat more than half it probably counts).
    2. Fabricated totals. (I think totals were, as Hanz and Franz (early SNL) would say, pumped up.)

I think Wingador, because of his iconic status in Philly, could have eaten about 10 dozen wings, and still be credited for eating well over 200. Perhaps it was the same last year; I don’t know.

The bottom line is that some excellent eaters (like Sonya) probably are very skeptical about ever entering WB again, because subjective, biased judging makes some eaters feel as if they have little, if any, control of the outcome, regardless of how many wings they actually eat.

A case in point is WB 13. I honestly believe Booker was DQ-ed ONLY because he posed such a huge threat to a Sonya-Wingador showdown in OT, as he was going through the wings like Joey on a speed-Mary Jane cocktail. I could almost hear the judges’ thoughts: “Damn, this guy is going to screw everything up. … We need to do something, and fast!

A bit later, the phrase, “You heave, you leave!” was heard. Eric Booker has never reversed in his life—-not then, not ever.

    I’ll never forget that.

Why bring up WB 13.? You are the only one that seems to remember Booker DQ when nobody else gives a rats ass. Booker had no chance in hell of beating Sonya or Wingador. He looked like he was ready to explode and the judges did the right thing. If they let him continue the controversy surrounding that decision would have come back to haunt him ever more so

RE @ 1:32 The Truth has spoken. Booker would say it’s all good even when it isn’t, he was none too happy not being on newer version of Nathans billboard but still came back from that insult and is still thriving.

That article in glutton is full of sh@t. Squibb is a class act. He doesn’t ever curse let alone talk about his crap. Ask Cataldi! He also never returned to a locker room after wingbowl. He was interviewed and then he was escorted to the Mike & Ike Show where the rest of us were forced to follow to get the facts for our articles. That Maureen O’Connor is a liar. I tried to get an interview with Squibb as well and he didn’t say any of that. I was standing right next to her. The audience didn’t shout racist remarks. They seemed more offend by Kobi covering himself in symbols of Phila. The last Wingbowl mentioned for the black widow was wrong, the Wingadore coming out of retirement to go against Kobi was wrong, … You people give journalism a bad name! GET THE FACTS!

Philly was the only city that got the publicity for Wingbowl. It was like Krystals being telecast on ESPN southwest a station that is limited to select states in the midwest. KFC commercial with Wingador and Chapman never made it to network tv . More like lean time instead of prime time

“•NBC’s Off the Bench has a report written by Josiah Schlatter, who was a member of Kobayashi’s entourage. He claims that Sonya Thomas’ final Wing Bowl was in 2004. (She also competed in the 2005 & 2007 Wing Bowls)”

Sonya Thomas only competed in the 2004 and 2005 Wingbowls

Thanks OJ, I forgot about that third time. Stand corrected. That was like an MLE sweep that year and didn’t it kind of leave Cataldi to limiting it to just locals after that? I wonder if that will be the fall out of this year’s event, knowing that no local’s going to touch Kobi and he’ll just treat Wing Bowl like a $20,000 ATM machine every year until they ban him from attending.

Let the major league eaters back in wingbowl and see if Goldstein Torres and wingador make it to the final five. More like second rd over and out

Schlatter makes it sound as if Sonya was this poor, scared girl who was frightened away after a single wing bowl appearance. I think if Sonya makes up her mind to do something no crowd will ever deter her.

The Truth is wrong. Didn’t Goldstein make it to the final five in Wing Bowl 15 & 16 behind Chestnut, Bertoletti & Sonya? Weren’t there plenty of other major league eaters in both?

Both US Mail titles with MLE were tainted ones. The crawfish was a horrible miscalculation of weight. In Canoli he didnt have much competition beside CLC.
