“Cookie Jarvis” to begin his next big battle.
His personal battle with Thyroid Cancer.

Let’s keep Cookie in our thoughts and prayers and hope his condition responds to treatment.

    Ed, all your friends in the eating world and your personal friends outside the eating world are wishing you well. This is a VERY TREATABLE cancer. My greyhound Rascal was treated last year for Thyroid cancer at University of Pennsylvania and she is DOING FINE. We are all there for you and you are in our thoughts and our prayers. I am sure that all the eaters are wishing you well.

    Don’t worry Cookie, Krazy Kevin’s right. You can beat this! Gina and I will be praying for your speedy recovery and strength for your family so stay positive bro and through the hands of the doctors, God will heal you from this! Call me if you need me ok.

    I am certain that you will be surrounded by loving family and community as you face your current challenge. And I am certain that you will emerge healthy and strong and return wearing your famous long Cookie coat to be embraced and congratulated on your victory of life.     You’re in my thoughts and prayers Cookie. I’ve read that the recovery rate for this type of cancer is VERY HIGH! Thank God for that. I’ve supreme confidence that you will get the best of care and that your speedy recovery will ensure that the detour you’re on now will be very temporary.

    Keep the faith … we love you Cookie. I certainly do!

    All threads should be devoted to Cookie Jarvis and his battle with cancer. To discuss any other topic right now is showing total disresepct for the man that made the sport what it is today

    I am happy that I and others are able to express good wishes and encouragement to Cookie on eatfeats but also think it is important to try to be sure that these wishes get to him. In the midst of his challenges, I am not certain how often he is able to be online. Yesterday I sent a personal message along with a friend request on Facebook, however, if someone could please post his home address here, I would like to send personal wishes via snail mail.

To the cheap bastards out there, send a card attached with a few bucks to show you really have some sympathy towards the man

    Anyone can look up anyone’s address and telephone number online through white pages. It is free, just like we used to look up people’s numbers in telephone books delivered to us. If someone doesn’t want that information made public, they should make sure to have an unlisted number or you can, I believe, go to white pages and make your number unlisted or the information unavailable. I certainly did not think I was revealing something personal and not available. Cookie has five listed telephone numbers on his website. Just to explain and suggest that you check your personal information availability as that is your choice.

    The contact information comment has been pulled. I do not want personal addresses and phone numbers posted in the eatfeats comments without the explicit approval of that person. HugeEaters.com has been updated to announce that Cookie’s surgery will take place on Feb 22 so the Jarvis family could provide public contact info there if they would like.

    Sorry. That is a very good policy. I had not thought everything through, just wanted people like me who wished to send snail mail to be able to do so. Mea culpa. You are correct. If they wish that information available, they can do so on their website.

    If you want updates on Ed Jarvis condition you can periodically check bits and pieces or hugeaters.com . In Rona’s defense she was only trying to help . Since OJ Rifkin refuses to acknowledge any editorial or news pertaining to my website and most of you have decided to abandon my site for this one, i felt it was my duty to inform you as to where you can find pertinent info regarding his situation. From a personal standpoint there is no need to get so dramatic . Stats have proven it is the type of cancer that will not kill you. That is the bottom line plain and simple
