An article about someone other than Kobi? I don’t believe it.

Hmm’s Krystal Ball (yes, spelling intended) says that Genovese is smarter than is obvious along with the WIPs. I am really happy to read something well written and informational about Squibb and USMale particularly. He is getting far more press and such than he would have gotten from MLE. And he says that he likely is not going to continue for long. So with last year’s entrance and this article and his participation, if he does goes out, it will be with fireworks. Congratulations USMALE!

Excellent article plus……look at the photo chosen of Kobayashi. Notice anything unusual about it? I predict this is going to be a Wing Ding the likes of which has never been seen before whatever the outcome. Maybe, in the end, win or lose, Kobayashi is going to come out better than he was…..somewhat in obscurity. And no matter who wins, they are setting up next year’s contest as well. This may be a win-win, having completely changed my previous concerns about Kobayashi. He was there last year so he knows what it is like. It isn’t as if he just fell off the sushi cart.

Love that phrase “just fell off the sushi cart!” 🙂

I would have been shocked if anything BUT a Nathan’s photo was used for Koby. That’s his signature event—-the one people associate his legendary status with.

Win or lose, Koby’s winning or losing margin will be determined as very close. I have no doubt about that, regardless of what the total amounts eaten really are.

One thing in Koby’s favor is that Angelo has let it be known over the years that he detests having back-to-back-to-back (multi-repeat) winners, both of which Wingador and The Squibber are.

Lots of different angles, and regardless of the outcome, I’m excited to see how it all turns out! (Though I guess, to at least some degree, my contemplation of looking at the Wingettes may be somewhat responsible for my elevated interest.)

Ah The Great Rhonda, look very closely at that photograph! Look at the one they chose out of all of Nathans photographs, look at a finger pointing, need any more big hints? Look at what Koby is doing with his mouth. Thanks on the sushi cart, I kind of liked that myself as it came into my head.

Well, Rhonda, I agree completely. Whatever Kobi eats the judges will keep it close to Squibb. They don’t want it known the vast difference between Kobi and Squibb in eating ability. Squibb has no idea what it’s like eating against someone like a Joey and Kobi since he never eaten against a real top eater such as them. “Furious” Pete and El Wingo learned that lesson pretty quick when they against the likes of Kobi and Joey legit events. The first scenario I predict is Kobi wins by a wing over Squibb in overtime, with a stunning comeback by Squibb planned next year. The argument in favor of that scenario is that if Kobi recieved an appearance fee they’ll want to get as much out of the cost they put into Kobi this year for promotion purposes. The next scenario is Squibb wins by a wing in overtime. The argument for the second scenario is Angelo likes to use his wingbowl victor throughout the year (a la El Wingador) in WIP events. Having an out of towner as the champion (Joey and Sonya) creates logistical difficulties for those type of events. Having a local champ is much easier to get in the studio. Whatever scenario Angelo’s crew decides it will be the one they feel gets the best media attention and promotion for Angelo and WIP. Wingbowl has nothing to do with eating talent.

You’ve absolutely lost me regarding the choice of that specific Nathan’s photograph.

Anyway … back to the wingettes …

    They bring back great mammaries.

Absolutely, Kobi Fan. If Koby received an appearance fee, he’s won (WB) already.

Naader, since I could not break the code on the Koby photo, it must appear to Hmm as if I DID just fall off the Sushi Cart. 🙂

Sometimes I’m not even a master at the most obvious, and this may be one of those times. 🙂

Get real! Eating against the likes of Kobi and Chestnut? There are some GREAT eaters in this thing. Being in a league doesn’t make you the best. Educate yourself fool.

@Kobi Fan, you need to educate yourself. Top rated current Wingbowl eaters formerly MLE eaters have already proved that they can’t compete with top MLE eaters — El Wingo, Stephanie, and U.S. Male. Joey, Kobi (when he was with MLE), Sonya, Pat, Tim all ate circles around those eaters at legit contests. Okay, you don’t have be in a league to be an elite eater. Kobi is an elite eater that’s why he kicks the butts of all the indpendent eaters in legit independent contests. Sonya and Joey eat over 180 wings in 10 minutes and those wings are weighed. Squibb learned a lesson when he saw El Wingo make a fool of of himself when he tried to go MLE. That’s why Squibb will never eat in a legit contest against the top MLE eaters. Because he’ll prove to people like you that he’s really only an average eater and Wingbowl is fixed. Even in your fixed Wingbowl, Squibb could only beat El Wingo by a wing last year. How do you think Squibb would do against top MLE eaters?. Well, let me educate you based on precident and facts, obviously the same as El Wingo did which is not very good. Even when he was in his prime as the Wingbowl champion.

Time’s up Rhonda et al. I could be wrong but it sure looks to me as if this is the moment when Koby is inhaling his own upchuck and there are two hands pointing to the emcee for a ruling………one hand is black as in perhaps Hungry Charles the commish, the other the judge? I have no idea if I am correct but it sure looks that way to me. I cannot believe that someone really did not specifically choose this controversial call, do not remember the year. Perhaps they just liked the color of his hair at that time, perhaps I spinning a conspiracy theory like so many do here, but I noticed immediately. Chime in.

I never thought that at all, not in the slightest.

For one, I didn’t see any “spray” coming out of / through his hands. But even if there were, that’s not the same as a reversal. Oftentimes eaters spit up a bit of liquid or food when they belch, but that’s not reversing.

As far as the finger, that could be a number of things, any of which would be a guess, for those of us who weren’t actually there up close.

Not suggesting that it was or it was not, not at all. I think the first time there was an issue there was snot coming from his nose, maybe bun snot. Frankly, imo, Kobayashi did beat Joey and did not get the right call on at least one occasion.

if they want Koby to lose they can leave his name off the list of entrants and make him crawl under a fence to get inside
,in the ice snow and muck 7 Meyer ,like they did me at my last wing-bowl. that’s a shame because Ipioneered the Phily wing bowl along with Krazy kevin Lipsitz & Cooddog O’Karma for non Philly residents, and that’s the thanks I get

Don the self pity thing is played out. You pioneer this you pioneer that. Everyone wronged you in one way or another . That about all we ever hear

Koby has been accused by someone of reversing in virtually every Nathan’s he’s ever eaten at. That’s because of jealousy and fear.

I sometimes try (but it’s hard) to imagine Koby being DQed in 2002 for “reversing,” only to award the belt to an eater who ate 20 less HDBs.

    Nope, that won’t fly.

Think the 2002 so called reversal is in the movie Zen and the Art about Koby that year saying just what you said Rhonda. He did not reverse but some hotdog stuff came out of his nose at the end (and he inhaled it back in, something like that). Koby was a Warrior and was not properly rewarded twice, imo, he won Nathans twice during the years Joey was the champion. But that is old news and an old opinion. Doesn’t matter anymore, the call is the call. Let’s see what happens with WingBowl. Should be interesting.

I will certainly be following WB tomorrow AM. I’ll be relying on timely updates from eatfeats. I sure hope OJ isn’t sick tomorrow AM.

Even knowing that eaters have little control over totals they get credited for, WB is still a fun-filled extravaganza for fans like me.
