Badlands Booker to appear on wifeswap Oct 9 with female boxer
IFOCE.com announces that Eric “Badlands” Booker will appear on “Wifeswap” on Monday October 9 at 8 pm eastern.
According to the Yahoo TV description, the Booker family will swap spouses with the Alcorns, one of whom is a boxer:
“Alcorn/Booker”
A former undefeated champion boxer trades families with a mother who champions competitive eating.
Booker will apparently live with Jenifer Alcorn, who retired from boxing without a loss in 2004. The (The only undefeated male championship boxer I am aware of is Rocky Marciano)
ABC has a press release about the episode. Eric’s wife, Regina, will take over Jenifer’s fighter training while Jenifer will try to get the Booker family to adopt healthier habits.

Arnie & I were asked to be on this show. Our wives nixed it. If they swaped the hubby’s instead of the wives, She may have approved.
I hope Booker comes off well. A good chunk of the reason my wife said no, was because of the episode we saw a day or two before being asked, when the 2 families got into it physically @ the after swap meting.
If it was $50,000. like the Fox version, instead of the $20,000 ABC was paying, I would have forced my wife into appearing.
In my mind the funniest thing of all would have been if Arnie accepted & they swaped Arnie & Bookers wives, which I was told was the plan. To swap out two competitive eaters wives.

That would have been interesting swapping an aice wife for an ifoce wife. A subich menchetti wife swap would have been real interesting . In that regard the Subich’s would more than likely hold out for half a million or its a no go. Badlands on wife swap should be more entertaining than anything i have watched on tv in years .looking forward to this one

No disrespect to Booker, he is one of the best all time, but he is a dying breed in competitive eating. The days of an overweight man eating a ton of food are gone. The people who are dominating the sport now are very health and fitness conscious. It would be much better for CE as a whole to have someone who better represents that aspect of the sport put in front of a national audience.

I have news for you the ifoce was much more fun when guys like booker , jarvis and other great eaters were center stage . It was like mom and pop candy store days from the 50’s and 60’s . Think about it: I think what you say has merit, based on faulty public perception, and for the sake of being politically correct on the world stage. However, I believe that just because a given competitive eater might be very heavy, it likely was not the sport that made him that way, and they’re just capitalizing on a talent they have, eating competitively on a very infrequent basis.
Personally, I’d like to see the big guys come back and kick some butt!

in 1978 i worked in a nightclub and the two bartenders were kidding with each other and one of them happened to be a boxing trainer “hey Richie do you think we could make this kid a good middleweight?” They were referring to me . Middlweight? If they saw me the past couple of years they would sing a different tune. Noone enjoys being overweight. Its not healthy It destroys self esteem and it gives the feeling of not having control of your body. I find it annoying when someone comes up to me “hey big guy” . A hello would be sufficient .I think most people give up on trying to lose weight because they dont see quick results or they are the victim of stupid remarks of that caliber . I found out it takes a very very long time to burn it off .when you reach a certain age. Its when you were used to losing real fast and then your metabolism all of a sudden betrays you , that one becomes frustrated and goes back to the bad habits. Some people dont realize when you make a stupid insensitive comment like ” Looks like you put on some pounds . Gotta lay off the late night snacks” you might be hurting someone’s feelings. For those of you that dispute what i just said and might comment “Ahh i just pay it no mind dont be so sensitive” My answer to that is you are full of shit! It does bother you but you dont want the ignorant idiot to know the comment bothered you. You can achieve your goal . It can be done no matter how much you weigh. Every day at the gym is another building block and soon the blocks get bigger and bigger and before you know it all the flab and fat is gone just like that. It might take 6 months a year or maybe 2 but the job will get done as long as you stick with the plan. When its all said and done never go back to that lifestyle ever again.
