Jed Donahue breaks own Heart Attack Grill record
The home page of the Heart Attack Grill reports that Jed Donahue broke his own Quadruple Bypass burger record by completing that sandwich in 3 minutes and 55 seconds, almost 2 minutes less than his previous record of 5:39.

Bubba I don’t know, outside of Joey, if any other US top 10 eater could defeat Nobiyuki Shirota in some foods — if he is really serious. (He’s playing around with Gal Sone, and those “contests” aren’t to be taken seriously.) Remember, outside of Koby and Joey, Shirota has eaten more hot dogs in the Nathan’s Finals than any other eater on the planet — 38 in 2004.

That logic is flawed. Joey pretty much blew the other US eaters away in hot dogs, yet US eaters beat him before. You need to use a variety of foods against US eaters to have a proper gauge. Thus the basis for IFOCE rankings. Sonya and Chip both got in that area, Chip actually tied it. Pat, Janus, and Bob have both improved so much since Shirota competed in the US. I’d say it’d be hard for him to even get in the top 6 were he to qualify for Nathan’s.

Hmm, I think I’m missing the thread here, but in any case: congrats to Jed!

Doctor John has proved to be a fantastic Marketer. I see his ‘nurses’ in the top 10 most viewed news photos often on yahoo news. I would love to someday eat one or nine of his burgers.
Jed is brilliant to frequent such a place. What safer place to practice than amongst busty REAL nurses!!!
🙂

Philly Guy I would venture that Shirota has improved also. But it’s impossible to tell.

If any of you competitive eaters (or any eaters) out there visit the Phoenix area, stop on in to the Heart Attack Grill for good burgers and great views. So far, I have yet to pay for a meal there, but if you beat the record my meal ticket is gone. Hopefully, it will be a while before anyone makes the trip. The owner, John Basso, has had a field day with the FREE publicity that the nurse controversy has stirred up. – Mad Stork it had to be one patty at a time since the Quad is 10″ high. – And to continue the mixed thread, I think any of the top IFOCE five can take Shirota.

Congratulations on your new record Jed. Are you going to be on the Geraldo Rivera segment? The Heart Attack Grill home page is not clear if you were there when Fox News was recording.

The Geraldo crew was there. Geraldo was not. I eat there about every six weeks and it was a happy coincidence they were there. They filmed me, but I have no idea what the editor will do. The piece was about the nurse issue so I don’t know if they’ll show some eating as well.
