Glad she’s ok, what a terrible mess. I hope Koby’s, and everyone’s relatives and friends are safe.

I assume and hope Maggie and her family are okay and that the people in Japan devastated by this tragedy can recover soon.

Maggie has returned from Japan and and Kobayashi has set up a way for people to contribute to the Red Cross, the most reliable way to help. My heart is breaking for my beloved adopted country, I encourage everyone, if they can, to give any amount, no matter the size, to this fundraising effort.

This column was written on the 11th. For all in the competitive eating community, for competition and for life, there is much to learn from Japan. http://kristof.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/03/11/sympathy-for-japan-and-admiration/?nl=1
