Takeru Kobayashi eats 110 bunless hot dogs at New York State Fair

DMagazine reports that Kobayashi will compete in a hot dog eating contest at the Texas State Fair in Dallas on October 16.
Joey Chestnut called Kobayashi’s sponsor “nasty Hoffman crap dogs” and then engaged in a twitter feud with the sausage maker: thread 1 | thread 2 The Sports Hernia has a blog entry wondering if Shea Communications authorized Joey’s tweets.

Takeru Kobayashi will attempt to eat 100 hot dogs without buns at the New York State Fair in Syracuse this evening to set a new record. (The only bunless hot dog record I am aware of it Lynda Kuerth’s mark of eating 23 frankfurters in 3:10 in 1977 recognized by Guinness, which stopped maintaining speed eating records in the early 1990s.) That’s a lot of hot dogs. You can’t tell me he didn’t purge after that display. If not, the amount of sodium alone would damn near kill him.

I ate 27 in 4 minutes, no bun, 10 minutes contest and they ran out of hot dogs. The guy the previous year did 15.
So easy w/o bun!
