You cannot do anything Brad. It is open to local eaters (Philly & 2 counties in South Jersey) only. Plus the top 5 chosen by the IFOCE to participate which will probably be Pat, Joey, Sonya & possibly Locust & Chip. Call the IFOCE office and tell them you want in.

Thanks Farooq, I hope I win too and promise to give it my best shot. I have been waiting a long time for this.

Call them up between 6-10 and ask. It doesn’t hurt to ask.

The IFOCE should not invite the same people back year after year unless they also invite new blood who have talent and have yet to experience Wing Bowl. But the fact is they only invite those who can help their cause, via exposure, so that they can ultimately line their pockets with green. This will backfire on them if Wingador or someone else wins and kicks the asses of their golden boys, Pat and Joey, which would only serve that organization right. This is the second of my 10 resolutions for the New Year.

US Male if thats the case then why should any member of the IFOCE that is not any of the above names you mentioned , support or take interest in this pick and choose bullshit. If this contest is only open to philly residents like last year then its quite obvious this entire event is a farce. Only a bunch of fools will waste their time rooting on Joey Chestnut’s attempt to bank another 20grand. There is nothing wrong with supporting your fellow mates but this has become very very redundant. Enough is enough.

Perhaps you don;t understand the history of the Wing Bowl (perhaps Steakbellie can back me up on this). This event started in a hotel lobby, by WIP, as a joke because of needing something to fill the gap of the Eagles not making the Super Bowl. It was always intended to be a local event only, never something to get so big with pro eaters from around the world.

Unfortunately, FCC regulations forced WIP to open the event up to others and somehow the IFOCE got involved. They must have struck up a deal to allow just 5 IFOCE invitees and keep the rest local. The other option was to not have Wing Bowl ever again.

Why can’t people just accept the fact that this is primarily a local event, for local WIP radio listeners. If it became an IFOCE event, then 20,000 people would not flock to the stadium at 5-6:00am in the morning in anticpation of a wild, mardi-gras type event with bikini girls and, oh yeah- a wing eating contest.

GET OVER IT!!!!!! There are many more IFOCE events coming up to participate in if you really want to compete.

And to answer your question anonymous, there are not other IFOCE eaters interested in coming to the event as a spectator (although I know of some who said they would be interested in watching). I don;t know how the IFOCE picks the 5 but I am sure they want to make sure they have the best 5 eaters possible in their eyes. Perhaps Brad will get asked as he did a great job in Buffalo this year.

At least the past few years a good bit of eaters were there as spectators. I remember Wing Bowl 14 had Hall, Pat, Janus, and Conti among others who I forget. And last year there were still a few eaters in the background. The problem is justifying taking two days off and the travel cost for one event. It seems most north east eaters make an attempt to attend either way.

Anyone that is not in the contest and attends this piece of crap must have no life. You risk your own life with the possibility of getting stampeded by bunch of uncivilized animals. If its just for fake tits and ass you can find that at your local strip club.

I dressed up like Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds one Halloween. I figure if I wore that costume to wingbowl, I’d just blend in with the crowd 🙂

anyone who hates on wing bowl has just never been there, or they’re just fucking losers who don’t know how much drinking from 2-10 am, harassing strippers and other local tit-showers, while yelling e-a-g-l-e-s EAGLES! and booing anyone who doesn’t join in. it’s the greatest day of the year.
