CE News: Pujols, Damon, Bagwell in Mitchell report

A list of Major League Baseball players expected by “a team of Competitive Eating News reporters and one CEN web editor” to be in the Mitchell report about performance enhancing drugs in baseball appears on CompetitiveEatingNews.com. Some of the players, such as Roger Clemens, Miguel Tejada and Andy Pettite actually appear in the report, but some, including Albert Pujols, Jeff Bagwell and Johnny Damon, are not present.

update Note the similarity of the CE News list with the list in comment #2 of this baseballthinkfactory thread

update #2 AOL FanHouse has more on the bogus list.

The people at the ifoce have too much time on their hands…

i they cannot provide their eaters with contests the eaters will be forced to look for competition in other places.

What kind of bullshit is this? No egg nog drinking contest. I was really looking forward to this. Look on the bright side Pat can sleep a little better than before because he doesnt have to worry about a suspension. We all want Pat eating with us for many years to come

Rich Shea writes these stories and they are never to be taken seriously. If the Shea;s thought for one minute that eaters were engaging in the use of steroids they would not poke fun at it . It would be kept hush hush because anything that threatens the livelyhood of their organization would not have a place in that satirical section of IFOCE.com which is called Competitiveatingnews.com.

As much as I am a fan of CE, I must say it will never be big enough to merit drug testing — too much expense, too little benefit (for the “sport”, and too few followers. There may or may not be substances which enhance eating performance. If there are, it is likely there is a health-related price people will pay for using them. Everything has a price.

I’m certain that if the IFOCE looked just a bit they could find a human interest story or two to cover regarding some of their own sports figures. The fact that the organization is attending to news in another “sport”, versus their own tells me where their priorities lie.

It certainly is not with their own member eaters. That’s because everything is about making money. The Fed will take care of the eaters who put coin in their pocket. When that stops they quickly forget you — selective memory.

Their unspoken motto is: What have you done for me lately?.

If the IFOCE spent as much time trying to lure sponsors as they do slandering innocent baseball players, we might have an eating contest in December. Seriously…not cool.

Rhonda you mentioned in your dec 14th 9:01 comment “The Fed will take care of the eaters who put coin in their pocket.” Would you like to bet that whatever profit they accrue from selling the MLE dvd on IFOCE.com will go in their pockets and noone else.
