CBC reports that the family of Samaljit (Sunny) Aulakh, who has been hospitalized after suffering brain damage in a gulab jamun eating contest in November 2012 is suing the organizer of the competition, Red FM. The maker of the gulab jamuns and the contest site, Surrey's Central City Shopping Centre are also named in the lawsuit. (Court document)

thats very sad. This is what happens when you run a contest that is not on the up and up. Sheas know how to run a safe event where the chances of this happening are very slim. Before they ever started the IFOCE they looked into all safety precautions looking to protect the eaters and themselves . Now these morons are in deep shit with legal problems
