Yeah, I watched it. The announcers were sort of lame and the show was definitely low budget (so low budget, they had to film it in a highway tunnel). The only reason I’ll keep watching is because of my CE fascination.

I think if this show is successful, it will damage CE’s ability to become more mainstream. This is our Billy Carter, and we will be called out on the carpet about it in every editorial.
I havent seen it but I imagine many of us would be good at this show however. I dont intend to support it.

It was pretty weak and I don’t know that I’d even call it competitive eating. It was a couple of regular joes who ate a large meal and were tossed around a bit. They weren’t bowling, but being pushed back and forth in a ball. There were guys in hazmat suits, meh. There was more puke shown on ESPN. Here the puke is censored and aside from a few jokes that a 12 year old might have said it wasn’t anything to be up in arms over. I think there were worse shows in the top 22 than this for sure.

I like seeing any form of competitive eating on TV, but I can’t say this show was captivating.
First, the announcers were incredibly boring, monotone d-bags. Zzzzzzzzz. How can you make the audience care about what happens in a show if you don’t sound like you care?
A show called hurl censors the actual hurl? That’s just weird.
Apparently you had to eat more than the last person each round, but what you ate in previous rounds didn’t matter or add up. So instead of trying to eat as much as possible each time, apparently you want to eat only slightly more than the last person so you don’t get sick. Boring, that means nobody will ever have a high poundage first round performance because it will not count for anything.
I like seeing eating contests on TV and I don’t even mind the silly concept of trying not to hurl. But this show had such horrible production values and lack of imagination, it put me to sleep. Maybe they’ll come up with more creative ways to make people hurl than little hampster balls. Like making someone get into a wrestling match with a pro wrestler or something. . .
But maybe on G4 it can survive, since what else do they have going for them. . .who watches that channel anyway? I didn’t even know it existed until yesterday.
