The NY Daily News reports that Pete Rose will host the kickoff reception for the Long Island Clam Eating Contest at Peter's Clam Bar in Island Park on Saturday. Takeru Kobayashi will serve as coach on the contest on Sunday.

    Competed in this contest a few yrs ago got sick to my stomach due to clams fermenting in the sun because we had to wait for Sonya Thomas who arrived late but contest started without her

    He ate 9.5 in 2003 after eating a ton of left over dumplings at the Chinese dumpling contest where he met a slobby and disheveled Tubkin for the very first time who was mistaken for a homeless bum asking for change.

    I remember Blobkin from Nathan’s. He’s the one who ate 11 hotdogs, never improved in 18 years, and never won a qualifier and never made the finals. HAHAHAHAHA……

    Matter fact your right. Some mumbling midget with a bad hairpiece wearing a black team jarvis shirt introduced himself with slivers of spit coming out of his mouth as he was speaking. Two other team jarvis members male (i think?)and female about the same size as shortstein were also tagging along. Seiken actually wanted no part of all three due to embarrassment, but tried to be polite

    Shortstein only reason for competing at nathans was to prove to his dad that he could amount to something in life. Instead of studying to be a lawyer or doctor , he thought by eating a few hollowed out hot dogs on television would make him proud. He probably laugh his ass off when he saw him on tv and said ” I knew he wouldn’t
